I don't plan on adding any additional components and I like to format my machine often and keep it surgically clean. Is there a good guide for imaging?

Ideally, I'd like a good sourceforge (read: free) solution bu would pay for the software.

If you want to image your current boot partition to CD(s) or DVD(s) Terabytes Image for DOS/Image for Windows is your best bet.

If you want to image your current boot partition to annother partition, HD, or network share, then Acronis TrueImage8 is what you need.
