I was in the parking lot the other day, and I was watching an old lady pull out of her spot as I walked. She reversed straight back, then literally pulled on the wheel 5-6 times to turn(took about 15 seconds), and pulled into the lane verrry slowly. There's no way someone who needs to take take 'steps' in turning the wheel is going to react to a road hazard in time to save themselves or others from a collision. That lady was too feeble to be driving safely.

My personal opinon is that yearly road tests should be required after age 60, or under certain medical conditions causing someone to be similarly weak.

Agreed, but there are a lot of old people out there that do a lot of the voting, so it will likely never happen.

When I get so old that I can no longer drive, eat or need someone to wipe my ass for me, I will make the guy wiping my ass a good deal of money just to off me instead.

I saw an old lady in a big ol car rear end this lady in a small little civic in a parking lot cause the lady in the civic was stopped waiting for someone to pull out...barely touched her...but the lady in the civic got out (said something like "crap this isn't my car) and i could see the ol lady already had her insurance ready to go like this was a regular thing...she didnt even apoligize or say anything...she just smiled and said "oops"...

That and nearly every time i am walking in that parking lot some old person nearly runs me down while pulling into their handicapped parking spot...I've pounded on some old person's hood twice now as they came to a stop and luckly managed not to hit me.

So yes...after 60...mandatory driver testing and training. That and anyone over age 70 between the hours of 8am and 5pm not be allowed to drive (if they have passed their tests), provide a shuttle for em or something...at least some of the ones around me are smart and take the handi-shuttle...I'm just sick of getting stuck in rush hour behind some person in massively oversized blue-blockers driving a car 30 years old thats twice the size of every car on the road and barely able to see over the steering wheel going only 25 mph in the left hand lane and another going 20 in the middle lane...
