Its April here in New England and its thunder snowing. My power went out for a few seconds. I haven't heard thunder during a snowstorm in years. How is the rest of the northeast doing?

chilly and raining here. i drove through a thunder snowstorm in January. it's quite freaky to see lightning flashing at the same time so much snow is falling.

It's just rainy here outside Boston.

I'm hoping the snow holds off, and the rain disspates. As, I'd like to play baseball tomorrow.

Just wait until the weekend...

Possible massive Nor'Easter in the works. 12"+ in mid April? 60mph winds? Ruh-Roh!

Interestingly enough, some of the factors that lead to the amount and type of snow you're seeing cause the thundersnow as well.

Another interesting tidbit is that the thunder from thundersnow is mostly insulated by the falling snow, so the sound only travels a few miles from where the lightning strikes.

either it's thundering here in Baltimore or they are dropping $hit on our roof.
