It's the natural life cycle of every contentious thread on ATOT...

First you get the cheery, easy going crowd (my type of people )who pop in, laugh and flame/and/or agree with you.

Then about ten minutes later you get the pedantic crowd who have rushed off and fiddled with google in order to come up with that perfect link to put you in your place and prove you wrong.

and after that bloodbath is over, the neffers (usually stage 1 folks :shocked: ) come in and give the OP a good flaming as a result of the googling of the pedants in stage two.


the thread then sinks into obscurity and is never seen again (if the OP is wise that is )

This makes perfect sense though, the first ones who get there make the obvious jokes or agree with you. Others who arrive late have nothing new to add so they don't post, or are less likely too. The assholes commence searching, then they post. New meaty content has arrived, and it is pounced upon for the second wave.

Then, its exhausted. Long threads really only exist because flame wars keep them at the top for all to see.
