It's the Holidays. Who's grateful for what they have?

JEDI

Lifer
In my dozen+ years of working, i've blown $60k+, mostly in the stock market bubble in 2000.

But I'm grateful for:
1) Having $60k cash to blow
2) Be smart enuf not to blow $ i don't have. (ie: I've NEVER been in credit card debt)
3) Having a job, a house, a fully paid car, maxxed out 401k, etc
4) Not having to financially rely on my parents
5) Not having to choose between food or paying the rent
6) etc...

How about you? Are you greatful for what you have? If so, why? If not, why not?

EDIT:
ARRGGG..i had grateful, but i thought i mis-spelled it since noone was voting. (Some people in ATOT don't reply to misspelled titles in threads.) so i edited it and spelled it greatful. now i find out it was really grateful...ARRRGG 🙂

I'm grateful that I get paid to nef.

I'm grateful that my Christmas shopping is done.

I'm grateful that I have nothing to do tonight.

Yes. I am 16 years old. Over the years, the meaning of Christmas has changed significantly for me. Over the past few years, this change has seemed to be expontential. A few years ago, Christmas was totally about the presents. I liked giving, but damn did I like recieving. Who doesn't? Well, over the past few years, I've matured a bit. My brother and sister have gone off to college, my grandparents are getting older. I don't see my siblings as much, since I'm an only child most of the year. Now, this year, Christmastime is upon us. Am I looking forward to the presents? Yeah.. I am. However, I'm looking forward to hanging out with my family a lot more. I'm grateful for that.

I'm grateful that I've got a house and family that I love and that loves me. I'm grateful that my family can make ends meet, and there's always food on the table. I live in a nice community with good schools. I'm grateful for the way my parents brought me up, to be independent and secure.

I live in an urban center and I am reminded how lucky I am every day when I walk on the streets. I have pretty good health, I have a job which pays a decent wage, and I have a home.

I am grateful for what I have. So many others have less.

I would be a lot more grateful if I could find a job and shed about a ton of worry/stress.

I want what i cannot have right now.
I will be brutally honest since i dont want skoorb to ban me, I am not as grateful as i should be.

I'm grateful for many things. I'm 20 now, a junior in university, and my defenition of grateful has changed much since highschool days.

I'm thankful that my dad is still around... he has asbestosis, and a bad heart, and I never expected him to be around for this xmas. That alone is reason enough for me to be thankful.

I'm grateful that I have the opportunity to be in college as a dual major in two fields that I love (CS and math), and that I have the scholarships which are the sole reason I can afford to go.

I'm grateful for the amazing friends I had getting me through the roughest part of my life this summer when I had the messiest breakup I could ever imagine with the first girl I could ever say I really loved.

I'm grateful for interviews with IBM for a co-op working on their grid computing project.

I'm grateful for a couple of my close friends finally getting what they deserve in happiness, from one form or another.

I'm grateful that when my apartment was broken into last weekend that nobody who was sleeping upstairs was injured, and that the university pulled together in support... I'm also grateful that without my asking, one of my professors offered me the opportunity to take my Automata theory at a later date due to the circumstances.

I think we all have a ton of things to be grateful for. I know, for various reasons, the holidays tend to be one of the roughest times for me... but at the same time, everything has a way of working out for the best, which is the important thing. I have the best friends in the world.
