Happier compared to today where porn's plenty via internet?

Was the previous generation happier when porn (VHS tapes) were made legal via California Supreme court decision?

And was the generation b4 that happier when Playboy came out?

I say yes, you would be happier if you grew up in a world w/Pleasure Bots than the previous generations with their respective porn.

For one thing Playboy, VHS tapes, and internet are just images. A Pleasure Bot you can touch + kiss.

if its like GITS what would i need a pleasure bot for when i have direct access to the sensory input to my brain. anything you can do in hardware you can do in software.
 
I would have been ruined. Pleasure bots do not have emotion, you cant get into fights with them, you cant have children and they can't get jobs.

Also, if I had a pleasure bot during my teen years, it would have ruined my sex life. Those bots can do whatever you want as much as you want. Where as a girlfriend or wife could not do those things.


Bad idea overall.

No..at least for most people. While I enjoy sex, and have done it with many partners, the act itself gets "old". Loving someone and being loved back does not. I think I'd be chronically unhappy if my day ended with some cold robot jacking me off as opposed to my loving wife.

Sounds awesome for teens, people without BF's/GF's. Nothing can replace real love, though. I'm all for it, as long as Pleasure Bot-sex and people-sex can (are allowed to) co-exist. I do think that it would help prevent rape and child molestation. I mean, if you want to have sex with children, why can't they make a child Pleasure Bot? I would rather live with the idea that some freak is having sex with a robot that looks like a 5 year-old than the idea that some freak is ACTUALLY having sex with a 5 year-old.

I was about to type a long answer, but this pretty much sums it up. Casual sex is great, but it doesn't mean anything. Sex without love is masturbating with more arousal.
 
I'd hate to be the guy who tests the prototypes....... Imagine having updates for these things. You'd buy one, then a year or two later a new version comes out and you'll start thinking "OMG I can't believe I slept with this thing... The new one is so much better!" Just think about how you guys feel when you upgrade an old piece of hardware and apply it to this situation =)

I think society would be happier if you didn't have to worry about pregancy, hiv, stds, and emotional attachment when it comes to sex.

In some countries, women are sexually supressed, and its not healthy. In other countries, women are sexually abused, put into slavery, and that is just as bad. In the US, women are encouraged to be sexual at younger and younger ages, and even that is bad. At the same time, men are both the instigators and the targetted. Both genders are a market for business.

I wish sex didn't have to be so complicated. Its wired into our brains to be complex. We should find the gene and come up with a drug that supresses this association. Just let sex be sex.
