What I find most interesting about the Republicans choice of this elections boogeyman, the Illegal Alien, is that they just spent 7 years on the other side of the issue!.
I also find it absurd for any intelligent Republican (an oxymoron, I know) to believe a new Republican can or will do anything about illegal aliens, since they are needed by the money wing of the Republican party as cheap labor.
I guess its pretty safe for any Republican candidate to say anything about what he will do to fight the illegal immigrant issue, since it is a legislative issue that requires laws. And regardless of Bushes attempts to destroy the Congress, it is still the Congress that makes the laws.
So the most any Republican President will do is propose legislation that won't be passed (and since he knows that he will pander new laws continually). And possibly some "show" enforcement to pretend he is doing something.
---------------------------------------------------
A one sided argument that ignores the other side is trolling.
As you know, the Democrats could be in the same situation - they have repeatedly demonstrated that they know how to talk out of both sides just as well as any Republican.
