It's that time of the year again: pollen counts coming back

Looks like spring is coming, my eyes are starting to itch. Since theres so many allergy medications out there, i'm wondering what you guys like to you. I dont really have other symptoms other than itchy eyes. What do you guys like to use? So far i've only used Claritin and some Visine drops but the visine drops aren't very effective.

I started Singulair in the fall (prescription only) because I can't take any of the regular antihistamines. Antihistamines dry out my eyes since I had eye surgery, and it is not pleasant to spend hours on end with extremely dry eyes.

Anyway, Singulair works great, and I'll be starting up again here soon.

Since nobody answered your question, I use Naphcon-A. I am a lifelong allergy sufferer, and eye itching is a biggie. I have not found anything better over the years, and its now OTC to boot.

I don't have chronic allergies, so I just take Benadryl or Actifed when things get bad.

I get slightly itchy eyes, but that's completely secondary to the apocalyptic war zone of my sinuses. I use lots of allegra and claritin and pseudoephedrine, which is good enough most of the time.

Most of the time the pollen counts are useless anyway because it's the type of pollen which matters typically. Atlanta has some astronomical pollen counts, especially in the Spring, but the worst times are pine pollen season, which is fairly benign.

For me, it's the weeds. I just check the weed count instead of the overall pollen count.

My eyes are bugging me like crazy.

The pollen is nuts here already, it's coating everything outside in a yellowish-green coat of pollen (Atlanta area)
