Well I am upgrading from a 1.8A P4 essentially. I was wanting to go with Intel because I have always liked them the best, so a few months ago when I bought Farcry and needed a little more computer I turned to the Mobile 2400 to help me get though the Intel down turn. Well I have concluded that the upturn is to far off (especially with their heat issues) to wait out. So I am going with an AMD upgrade. I sold my 2400 and motherboard this weekend so I am ordering first thing in the morning. This is what I came up with.

Some things that may help in your evaluation:
1. I only got one stick of RAM because I have 2 512s identical to that one now, with the same heat spreader.
2. I have a Cooler Master Praetorian case now, the 4 80mm stealth?s are to quieten the beast.
3. I only got the 1 Raptor because I have two 7200 RPM 120GB 8mb Seagate drives for storage.
4. I am going to see how the onboard sound is before I buy a sound card. If I have to buy it will be the Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS.
5. As for Video card, I bought a 6800GT about a week ago.

Other than that I think it is self explanatory. Let me know what you think.

Thanks

KD

Hmm... oooo... ohhhh! :Q *puts on the bib with the AMD logo*

If I understand correctly, you were going to do three memory modules total? You don't want to try running three memory modules with a dual-channel setup. AFAIK it simply won't POST on an nF3 board if you have three modules. Hope that helps a little...

I thought the 754 was not a dual channel system? If it is I will leave the one off. The motherboard only has three DIMM slots though....why would they put on three if I could only use 2?
