Post your trance faves. :)

DO NOT TURN THIS INTO A "MY PENI, er, PLAYLIST IS BIGGER THAN YOURS" :|
Favorite songs only. :D

DJ Tiësto - In My Memory Remixes - 01 - In My Memory (Gabriel & Dresden Elephant Memory Vocal)
Sarah McLachlan - Remixed - 05 - Silence (DJ Tiësto's in Search of Sunrise Remix)
Paul van Dyk - Vorsprung Dyk Technik (Disc 1) - 07 - BT - Blue Skies (Blauer Himmel Remix) [this is part of a mix, so that's why the CD is "vorsprung dyk technik" and not "blue skies"]
Paul van Dyk - Vorsprung Dyk Technik (Disc 2) - 04 - Joe T Vanelli - Playing with the Voices in Germany [this is unmixed, and it's slightly repetitive, but i still love it, don't know why]

Thread crappers be damned.

ahh figured u meant IDM = Intelligent Dance Music

Had to throw a shout out for the new deftones album lol :)

but seriously, trance is probably the least differentiating genre of all of music... hey lets get a straight up 4/4 off a old roland 909, throw on a arpeggiating lead line, and maybe get a generic female vocalist to sing some cheesy meaningless lyrics and just build up/break down the whole thing a couple of times without really changing anything...

I guess if i would have to suggest some good trance, I would say pick up a couple of the D:Fuse albums before he went on to perfecto...

I was actually just listening to the Very Best of Ferry Corsten (Import) today... it's not bad. Check out his Global Trancemission CD's as well for a nice mind fvck. :)

I been listening to alot of Armin Van Buuren and Kimball Collins lately (their live stuff)... though nothing much new out, anyone have any good LIVE sets in mp3 format?

Nuclear, I also like the Vorsprung PVD albums... they're sweet. It's also amazing how Tiesto just rose through the ranks so quickly to become best DJ in the world, although I haven't heard anything new and mind blowing from him lately...

my listing was a little more of the electro-tinged stuff... its DEMF time again so I've been pulling out more of that kinda stuff... well, Ram Trilogy is like classic dnb (re-wired my system in my car and needed something to blare at high volumes lol). Stewart Walker is awesome live, but his album stuff is a bit more 'chill' because he realizes cds are for home/car listening rather than for bumping at a club :D

I agree it's crazy how tiesto is world-class now... I remember when noone knew who he was... The whole trance thing has just gotten to me, cuz the genre sounds entirely the same as it did like 5 years ago lol :D Anyone else remember when Tranceport was just another good trance cd, and not the staple of a entire genre of music??

Yeah Tiesto has blown up the spot... He was playing in NYC this past NY'sEve at World, a huge venue. Probably the only DJ's who command more $ are PVD or Oakey...

Haven't listened to DnB lately, I used to listen to alot of Dieselboy (hometown Philly boy)... he put out anything lately? I'll have to check out the Stewart Walker and Ram Trilogy stuff :)

Tiesto definetly has crazy skills as a producer/artist or whatever, but I'm not so sure about his mixing/DJ skills....

One word: Sasha :D

He gets mad props for being able to get crazy fvcked up and still mix like a machine.

I'll check it out Nuclear, thanks. Another darker trance album is Digweed Live in Hong Kong, it's decent. Kimball Collin's Club Nights Vol.2, Tiesto's Vol.6 Live in Amsterdam, and George Acosta's Awake are also regulars in my car. Old, but timeless classics!

No doubt, I remember seeing Sasha and PVD spin at Twilo (ah the good old days when it was still open)... I can sum it up in 2 words: euphoric intensity.

Yeah, that woulda been tight... Havent seen either of em live out of bad luck. Best Trance DJ I've seen live was probly Carl Cox... Kimball Collins Sucked so bad at Motor it was pathetic...

EDIT: Correction... Slam was the best Trance DJ I've ever seen live... Almost forgot how good that show was...

Yeah it was nuts, everyone was rollin'/droppin'... also got to see Oakey live at the Hammerstein(NYC as well) and a small venue in Philly(electric factory). They were awesome as well... Carl Cox is sick, I'd love to see him live. That must have been alot of fun. Kimball sucked??? Wow, I usually hear that he rips it up... that's a shame.
