So far, I've thought of one thing - an amp and sub for my car (I just have 6x9's for bass now) I would like the challenge of installing it, so don't factor in installation costs.

For the sub and amp, I was thinking of an Image Dynamics IDQ 12" (or possibly dual 10's) and some kind of mono or 2 channel amp to run it. I might spend a little over if I need to, but I don't want to go much above $360.

Any other good suggestions? Look at my system rig if you want to suggest something computer related.

Add a little more and open a ROTH IRA. There is a $2000 limit per year. At your young age it could be worth a lot of cash, much more than a stereo system. Be a little practical now and reap the rewards of compound interest.

Look at it this way, the stero looses value over time, but, if you save that money, and put it in a CD or something, you will be making money on it .

I wasn't really looking to save it - if I wanted to build up a supply of money, I could go and work at Subway again. I have plenty sitting in the bank - I would like to spend a little on my car. I already have money in CD's at the bank.

Just so you know, my car is a Lumina, and all I've done is add a cd player and speakers. This isn't going to be a booming rice rocket. :p
