I remember rolling hard with my Asus P4c800-e Deluxe motherboard,my pentium 4 2.4ghz 533fsb i pulled out of a old dell demension 2400,i got that damn thing to 3.5ghz stable which was a feat.:awe:

To this day i never have been so ballsy when it came to overclocking any chip, but perhaps that is cause in 2006 a pentium 4 was technically older then the hills so a replacement chip would have been a couple bucks tops so the fun would never stop, like a can of pringles..:|

Right now I am sitting next to a 3200 newcastle, a 4400 toledo and a 6000 windsor. Good times.

Well someday the CPU, GPU, and parts out today will be junk and we'll have even more powerful parts. 6,8,10,12+ CPU cores. 6,12,18 GB VRAM . . . .

I remember as a wee lad going to computer city and upgrading my cpu to a 486 DX4 so that I could play lands of lore (or something like that). The salesman said "the 486 DX4 is lightning fast, you will never need another processor"...computer city is no longer lol

Speaking of memory lane...

IMG_0129-t.jpg

(system build log in sig)

I also have almost completed a 486 dx-2/66MHz system this time with an era case too this time not just era components, but have gotten too ill to finish, hope I can soon. VLB, non ZIF socket, 528MB bios limit (non LBA/LRG compatible bios)... VLB cirrus logic 1MB video upgradable to 2MB and standard VLB two channel IDE I/O card.

OMG u were balling in RAM.

if i recall each of those sticks costed more then what a high performance OC DDR3 kit would cost today.

lol.. this is the first PC Card i think i installed ever in my life.. ISA... Sound Blaster original!
Made wing commader talk!

Aigo, I'd recognize your nasty dirty 16-bit ISA slot anywhere D:  You should get some penicillin on that thing :hmm: :whiste: A little soap and water never hurt either :D I mean sure, I can understand going a little au naturale...but there is no need to go ALL naturale o_O
