They keep changing the forecast. Some are saying it could continue all day. Bridges are closed in Baton Rouge and could be coming this way. It's starting to look like the great blizzard (;)) of Christmas day '04.

I don't even think we are up to 2 inches yet. What you don't realize is that 2 inches might as well be 2, 4, or 10 feet. We rarely get snow. I've lived here ~14 yrs and this maybe the third time it has snowed.

Sad thing is, people up here in Minnesota don't know how to drive in snow either. First couple snow falls and people are flying into the ditch left and right. It's as if they've never dealt with it before either. I can't imagine what it'd be like for people down south.

Winter storm warning until 1pm tomorrow- forecast says 1-2" today and 5-8" tonight...plus another 2-4" tomorrow.

Driving will be fun at 3am...V8 RWD in a blizzard! :Q

I hate to tell you this but no one in Minnesota knows how to drive in snow either.

Come to think of it, all the time I spent in Oregon I noticed one thing: People deliberately drive worse when its raining.

OH CRAP!
I just quoted SnipeMaster!!

No one knows how to drive in snow anywhere... period. Most of the problems that I've seen are with people in big SUVs thinking they're invincible.

HAHAHA this is just phase 1 in Canada's plan to annex the US. Louisiana is now primed for the polar bear army.

*points and laughs from Canada where it's 40F and clear*

:)

This is true. I'm willing to be they think that because they can take off faster with 4-wheel drive, they will also be able to stop faster/turn easier. Don't even get me started at parking in a lightly covered parking lot. *shakes head*

Seems like about 4-5" up here in Covington. Stopped snowing about an hour ago, switched to rain. Of course, power is out and we're running off of generator.

I moved back down from NYC for this?!

It snowed 4 years ago on Christmas day! Unless you weren't here to see it, of course. :)

Most of the problems I've seen are people in small compact cars thinking they are driving SUV's and think they are invincible.

I see far less problems with people driving SUV's with the clearance needed to get through deep snow, than I see with people driving smaller cars that are just trying to push snow down the road.

I live in north Jersey, but all of my family in Baton Rouge was calling me and e-mailing pictures of the snow. My sister attempted to go to work and didn't even make it out of her neighborhood before sliding off the road into a ditch.

Of course, it's not like people here can drive worth a shit in any conditions either.

The problem we have here is that when we get snow it's usually just enough to cover the ice... I don't care how big your SUV is when there is an inch or two of ice on the road. :p

I was back in Houston. But it did snow (almost a foot) south of Houston a few years ago :p
