Well there's floodin' down in Texas
All of the telephone lines are down
Well there's floodin' down in Texas
All of the telephone lines are down
And I've been tryin' to call my baby
Lord and I can't get a single sound

Well dark clouds are rollin' in
Man I'm standin' out in the rain
Well dark clouds are rollin' in
Man I'm standin' out in the rain
Yeah flood water keep a rollin'
Man it's about to drive poor me insane

Well I'm leavin' you baby
Lord and I'm goin' back home to stay
Well I'm leavin' you baby
Lord and I'm goin' back home to stay
Well back home are no floods or tornados
Baby and the sun shines every day

Ooh, didn't think of that. Maybe some fun later.

What are you going to burn, your house?

In the more rural areas, it's common for folks to burn their trash.

I used to live in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains (Nevada City, CA) and we would burn leaves/yard waste, but this is feburary so I didn't think anyone would be burning those.

Around DFW got about an inch last night into this morning, first significant rain since last May! Woot! But it's almost all dried up, I'm sure the burn bans will stay in effect. Many people in rural areas still have huge piles of leaves that have been on the ground since October, but I think they will still have to wait to burn them.

Yup, rain last week, then last night, and this morning. A much welcome sight for sure. It was a nice slow rain, good to soak into the ground. I'll be curious to see the forecast later. :)
