When Win98SE log on screen comes on, it freezes for exactly 3 seconds, then everything is fine and dandy. It also does it after a fresh install and before installing any drivers.I tried moving the installed SBLive, but no help. Have an Asus P3V4X MOBO and a TNT2 M64 Vid Card. Any ideas?
 
Have you installed the VIA 4-in-1 drivers?

Do you have a network card? It could be that the network card is looking for an IP address.

What have you got loading up in the system tray or at startup? It could be one of the programs there which is taking up your system.
