A little over a year ago, I received a separation from the corporation that I worked for. This past year, the work search has been very dry in the area of I.T. jobs. Out of frustration, I took on lots of home renovation work. I've been busting my knuckles for the past 5 weeks doing tile work, hardwood flooring, painting -- anything to get my hands on. Finally, today is payday !! I'm starting to receive checks for the work which amounted to $20K. Plus, I'm having a blast doing this work and I no longer get tired like I would if I was a desk jockey in some office. Additionally, my wife gets bombarded from me when I need tools for work. "Honey, I'm going out to buy 2 Porter Cable nailers and a compressor ... or, honey, I just ordered a hardwood flooring nailer ... or, honey, I'm going to buy a new 2400 PSI pressure washer." Damn, this is fun. Seriously, all the tools are needed for work, but had I purchased them for just my hobbies, it would have been a big waste.

Life is fun! :)

Thanks for reading.

You're welcome :p

It's always nice if you love what you do, even better if it's for a living.

Dude, that kicks ass. Kind of makes you tihnk about the end of Office Space, only that you aren't shoveling wreckage but building stuff, etc. That is reallly awesome!
