It's Open right?

I needed to set up a firewall with Bandwidth shaping and although I was recommended a BSD, I forgot which one they were refering to.

Is it openBSD or FreeBSD. It is the "most secure" distro and has many packages available for what I need it.

Well, I'll ignore then "Most secure" part since that's been beaten to death many times over, but it sounds like OpenBSD anyways.
They're very focused on security, and their packet filter, PF, is awesome.

Is there a better linux/bsd option?


I think astaro craped out on me becasue a NIC was bad..since removed and will soon be replaced.
