If you ever get a chance to read any of Jean Shepherd's books, they're a hoot. Basically, collections of some of the stories he told on WOR radio and later published in Playboy. The original Christmas Story movie was kind of an amalgam of some of his different stories.

I also found a few hundred old air checks of his WOR radio shows from the 1960s that are hysterical. The guy was one of America's great story tellers.
