So I'm streamin some satellite at work...and what comes on?

William Hung - Achy Breaky Heart

I mean, its not even like a clip to be funny. They are seriously playing the song.

Oh cmon just change the channel. Hearing one song would not compel me to go over to XM. I've listened to their channels (they're owned by Clear Channel FYI) and found them to be sorely lacking.

How long has "Serius" been around?
Only reason I ask is...there's a character in "Harry Potter" named Serius, and he's portrayed, rather, he is, a black dog. Which is also the companys' logo...

I believe they came out just recently?

Sirius has been around for about 3 years now. The name comes from the star of the same name, has nothing to do with Harry Potter.

I might be getting Sirius this year for NHL games. Depends if I can get them online for free.

Was just curious. The name itself meant nothing ot me, but when I noticed both "Serius" and a Black Dog as their logo, showing up right after the movie "made it big," I got a bit curious. ;)

You're spelling the satellite radio's name wrong. It's Sirius.

Actually, I'm spelling them both wrong. Wow, can't believe I made that mistake repeatedly.

Sirius is known as the Dog Star. So J.K. Rowling was dropping a hint with her character's name, and thus why their logo is a dog.

Relax dude it was a joke, just mocking the fact that they were playing a William Hung song. I've had Sirius for over two years now, I have no real complaints.

Kind of off topic, but perhaps interesting to those interested in either service...

The FCC mandated that both Sirius and XM need to work out compatible hardware specifications so that users can switch to either service using the same deck. However, there is no time-limit to enforce the mandate, so neither company has worked hard to make this requirement happen.

So in short, if you heard about future devices being able to run both services, well... keep dreaming.

USA Today has an article about it. LINK
