I'm a big time Buffalo Bills fan, but I stayed up last night to watch the game between Atlanta and Carolina, I thought it would be a cool spoiler
game if the Falcons won... and they did. But man, that team had a ton of energy compared to when they had Kittner in there. I have to say
if it weren't for Vick breaking his leg earlier this season, I think he'd be an MVP candidate right now. Look what he did to the Carolina Defense...
supposedly one of the best defenses in the NFL... that was some sick play right there for a team that isn't having a great season.

Atlanta has to be the most fun team to watch when Vick is in the game... bar none.

just my $.02

he amazes me
hes definitely a freak of nature.
did you see that incomplete pass at the start of the game? 55 yards or something in the air throwing across his body on the run. crazy!

Great running, great passing, horrible team. They will be alot better now that he is their QB again, but they need more help. They should have a decent draft pick (having a horrible record) if they get someone good they could have a legit shot next year.

Vick is THE most entertaining player I have ever watched in ANY sport.

Yeah I saw it, I can't believe his accuracy and strength, he looks so skinny and feeble then WHAM! he just turns on the jets and goes!
I saw McNair Play a few weeks back when he was healthy and I was like wow.. he's awesome... then I saw Vick play, Vick ran like 5 yars upfield
looking like he was going to go out of bound and the Amazingly Kicked it into 4th gear and cut back inside, like 43 yards later he was on the ground.

He's sick... completely sick.

Yep, Falcons would be a wildcard contender if he hadn't gotten injured...next year can't come too soon!

I think Vick is a good quarterback. My only critisim of him, when he was at VT was that he would run too early.
And I figured that would hurt him as a QB in the NFL. However his first year in Atlanta he definately worked on
arm strength and learned alot about the NFL game. And now I think he has what Cunningham had, the ability to sit back
and know when to pass and when to run. Something alot of quarterbacks don't have. Kordell runs too early, and
McNabb (while a good QB), takes alot of sacks because he doesn't run, or throw the ball away untill its too late.

The only thing about Vick is that I think he will only have a short career. Because the more he runs the more hits he will
take. And frankly in the NFL, you might be able to take them for a while, but eventually the injuries are going to mount.
And I just hope he doesn't suffer something that effects the rest of his life. The only other thing I worry about is if the
Atlanta offense centers too much around Vick, like him running alot and passing, they might lose quality players that
want to be part of the offense. Egos can be killers for teams in the NFL.

yeah, when was the last time that the falcons had consecutive winning seasons? next year they'll be good.
I'd say go pick up a running back in the draft, but who needs a running back when you've got vick?

I think they'll end up with someone on defense. Will Smith of Ohio state would be a nice pickup.
(BTW... Will Smith of Ohio State, I ran against him in track and field in high school, I competed against him twice a year for 2 years)

When Vick becomes more accurate with his passing....and has someone to pass to besides Crumpler, he will be virutally unstoppable. My only concern with him is that he will not last long as a QB (or an NFL player for that matter) if he continues to run around and try to do it all like he did last night. He took some WICKED hits and it would only be a matter of time before he gets hurt again. Yes, he is awesome to watch and is a marketing/moneymaking deal for the NFL but he needs to take better care of himself or he won't last 5 years in the league.

Vick can run all he wants, he just has to learn to slide, rather than go head first on those longer runs, he's gonna get himself killed, do you know how
many guys want to get a piece of him when he starts tearing up a defense like he did last night? you saw it last night late in the 3rd quarter I think, on a T.J. Duckett Fumble I believe it was. Vick picked the ball up and was clotheslined by a Carolina defender, there was a huge scuffle on the field after that.

I don't know why everyone thinks that. Sure he's not a huge player, but there are some running backs (Barry Sanders comes to mind) that aren't/weren't much bigger. Some guys can take hits, other can't. For some reason though everyone has it in their mind that if you play QB you can't take a hit. Michael Vick is one of the most athletic guys in the NFL, and barring any freak injuries (I.E. Twisted leg fallen on to break again) I don't think Vick will get injured that easy. He may take 10 hits a game, but I think he can handle it. You can't (especially in the NFL) tell someone to hold back their game, or play differently because they are scared of injury. Vick's fearless, and thats what makes him special.

I saw that play, it was a vicious hit. I can see why Vick's O-line stood up for him, but that D man did was he was supposed to do. The refs never blew the ball dead, Vick picked it up like 8 yards from the endzone and the D man tackled him, I'm not sure what the offense expected the guy to do...let him waltz in the end zone? Two-hand touch him?

I totally agree, When you embarrass a NFL player he wants revenge. He might not be trying to kill you, but
when he gets his chance he wants you to remember him. The play Vick made last playoffs against, I think
it was the Eagles, when he got absolutely crushed by two eagles, because he was going for the extra yard.
But I think thats how Vick plays, he always goes for that extra yard, instead of sliding.

yeah staley, I'm surprised there weren't flags thrown on that play on the field, I thought the pushing and shoving was a lot
then I heard that helmets were getting torn off of guys in other places on the field.... that's just not right. I agree with you
if there isn't a whistle... play on, that's what I was always taught when I was playin' soccer throughout my earlier years.
You can't blame the defender for probably being taught the same thing.

Hey MogulMonster, I hopped on the hype wagon because he's fun to watch

if you can suggest someone else in the league more fun to watch, by all means, let us hear
I thought that was a great game last night...

Shall I start watching the Chiefs? or the Patriots? because they have winning records that should
make the game more fun and interesting right?

Ok I'll agree that he is very athletic and is probably one of those guys that can handle being hit once in a while, but there are a couple of differences. RB's (even the skinnier ones) and usually more compact and are usually able to get nice and low when they are taking hits. Vick is usually upright, diving, or flying through the air trying to get the extra yards. Also, Vick on a whole will probably take more ackward hits b/c the QB is constantly gettied hurried, pushed down, tackled, etc. And finally if you look at the life span of a RB compared to that of a QB you will not see many RBs over 33 but you will see QBs start to hit their stride at 30. It just takes a lot our of your body and WILL shorten your career if you take a lot of hits. I think Vick can last a while but won't last the 13+ years of many great pocket QBs. However I think he'll learn and gain confidence in his passing game and use the threat of the run more to keep D's honest. I also agree that he is VERY exciting to watch, other than maybe a couple RB's (like Sanders was, Michael Bennet (yes I'm a Vikes fan and that guy is FAST) Vick is one of the most fun guys to watch.

All I am saying is that he comes back with one good game, and his name is everywhere. I just hope he doesn't turn into yet another overhyped, huge endorser athlete that ends up mediocre because his mind is on making it to the next commercial shoot.

There are plenty of great players in the game. Did you see Portis stomping all over KC? Lewis turning in yet another over 200 yard game? People say Favre is finished, but he's far from it. He can't run like Vick, but his passes are on the money (not to mention the speed he gets them there). He's one of the most creative and aware QBs in the NFL right now. He's as tough as any player out there.

I just think its funny how excited people get over one player. It was a great game, and Vick was amazing as a runner. As a passer, it was a below average game, and he missed a lot of great passing opportunities to run the ball.

Yeah, I want to see the Vick, Price combo take off... he's already got Finneran in his crosshairs, and now he's gonna have price too? Finneran is nothing to brag about, but him and Price??? Wow.

Well what do you expect from someone who didn't play in over 3 months? You expect him to be rusty & his passing #'s alone were comparable to other quarterbacks yesterday:

Micheal Vick-

16/33 179 yards 0 TD 1 INT

Chad Pennington-

15/29 155 yards 0 TD 1 INT

Tom Brady-

16/31 163 yards 0 TD 0 INT

Jay Fiedler-

13/31 111 yards 0 TD 2 INT

Everyone has bad passing games, and it's really expected again since he missed 3 months. That was a rusty Vick not at the top of his game, wasn't running at full speed, he got tired fast (conditioning from the layoff), and his passes were a bit off. You'll see a more accurate Vick in the pocket as the season progresses. Why is it funny to be so excited over one player? Vick is the only guy that can get some of my buddies (who aren't football fans) glued to the TV screen.

Shlong, he's never had an above average arm IMO, maybe it'll come with experience though

Well last year Vick was 231 of 421 54.9% completion percentage for 2936 yards 16 passing TD's 8 INT's in 15 games. This considering he had Brian Finneran as his #1 receiver last year. Now that was also Vick's first year as a starter, and if you watched the games last season you would see that there were multitudes of drops that were right on the money (about 3-4 per game by Falcons receivers last season & many in the endzone). So I think his arm is good enough for his age at 23 (currently youngest starting QB in NFL besides Boeller who is injured) and circumstances given. I agree he can improve & will improve with experience (haven't even played 20 NFL games yet), which should be scary for all the other NFL teams.
