So I bit the bullet and got a MacBookPro + Free (AR) iPod Touch

With student discount, free shipping, NO TAX, and double reward points:

$2098 + 4196 (Reward Points) - $299 (iPod Touch Rebate)

= $1799.

Edit: The shopping exerience has been great so far. Ordered it online, the iPod touch should be arriving soon.. and I believe the machine is coming sometime within a week because it's coming from China/Taiwan. I'll be updating with my experiences to allow other people who are on the fence about buying a Mac some feedback on deciding whether or not they want to stick with PCs or go Mac.
 
I went to the local Apple store on Saturday to pick up the mini DVI adapter for my MacBook. I almost left a few hundred dollars poorer. Those Touches are soooo sexy!

Just need to wait a couple more weeks! 🙂

Yea.. those student discounts make the ease of grabbing a Mac, much easier to swallow. Especially if you sell the iPod that you get with it, you come in quite under the normal price.
