I heard on the radio this morning this bill has passed. But I didn't see an updated news link offhand. I figured this was both politics AND news, so here goes.

And I DO Love my PIE long time. But I prefer cherry pie. Because the pecans can be a bit hard and lumpy sometimes. And don't get me started on the whipped topping...

Seriously, though, did we really need a state pie? I can think of like a hundred more important things they should be more worried about.

Ahhh, here's something else.... the official wording on the bill.

Bing cherry pie is my all-time favorite.. and apple pie, if it's made with a mix of Granny Smith and Mcintosh apples.

Lemon meringue is also in the top 5.

my sisters house had 8 HUGE pecan trees. my kids loved harvesting them off the ground in November.

Hah, when governments find they can't get anything done they always default to making a state "thing" - pie, bird, flower, rock. Not sure we need a state anything unless we are trying to save an animal from extinction.

As much as I love pecan pie, this is a horrible decision.

I mean...come the fuck on: it's just Karo corn syrup, a bag of pecans, some vanilla extract, and maybe some creative flourishes like crushed cranberries. hardly a "pie."
