Yeah yeah MS stole from Apple, and Apple stole from Xerox.

Personally I think all the new interfaces suck, but at least with XP you can modify it. You aren't stuck with the crappy one.

Big deal...its a goddamn duck. The reason why they cry about it, is because they can't even begin to compare crappy MacOSX and XP. XP will 0wn OSX in every way.

Somehow I doubt it.
Considdering OS-X is BSD based, Apple might actually finally be on to something.
But then, its not exactly like we're comparing two companies with great track records for OS's here, IMO its pretty likely that they both completely screw it up.

Thinking about it, MS has already screwed up with XP.

Eve stole the Apple (pun intended) first...and from God...

Gates only stole it from Steve whats his name ? lol..so does Steve think he is God ?

Ya know competition is great, but losers that cry foul just need to grow up or get out of the business.

I don't know, we've seen plenty of OS's based on Blue Screens of Death and I haven't been overly impressed so far.. ;)

No, I beg to differ:

if memory serves me correct, Xerox had something that they didn't think would make money or would be useful, so they GAVE IT AWAY.

But if Xerox gave it away then MS received just as Apple did. Frankly I don't see any simlaritites between the older Windows and the Macs except for the fact that they are both GUI's, and I really don't think that graphical interfaces in general are something that could be copyrighted.

Not quite... Xerox didn't want it, and told Apple to take it, make it, break it, do whatever they wanted. They could own it in every respect. Conversely, Apple SUED M$ when M$ copied the "look and feel" of Apple's system. Not quite the same consensual giving relationship between Apple and M$ as there was between Xerox and Apple (despite M$'s eventual court victory).

But as I said I don't think MS copied the "look and feel" of MacOS. Oh they had windows and icons. They might have gotten the idea here, but lets get real the concept of a gui ain't exactly a Dicken's novel. It's just not feasible to say MS "stole" anything. A few years ago a guy had a copyright on all animation used in a computer game and was actually suing almost all the game companies for royalties or they would have to stop using animation. Guess what? It was thrown out. It's just a stupid concept to try and copyright something so broad.

And do not think I'm a MS supporter. I've been a huge linux user/fan for several years now and I'm on the virge of dumping Windows completely. I just don't like to see them get blammed for something unfairly.

Why is everyone against XP?!? Have you even used it?. All I've heard are great things about it. Its as stable as Win2k and as compatible as 9x. Theres no longer going to be two different OS's based on different architecture. So that means all the drivers and games will work on it. Don't you think this is a good thing? So until you've had first hand experience with XP, don't start MS Bashing.

And as for the interface...if you don't like how it looks now...remember its SKINNABLE! Its better then the permanent Apple Crap. And better then WindowBlinds..cause its memory hog.
