I'm confused. Is this a day for Republicans to show that the Obama they are running against only exists in their imagination? Have to believe real hard to see him?

Ummm....yeah good meme...

I think it shows that empty heads attack empty chairs. Republicans have been attacking an imaginary Obama for years. That's how Obama is an empty suit who's done nothing while simultaneously actively destroying America through his extreme actions. It's how he's both Bush II and a far left-wing socialist. The empty heads love the empty chair meme because it rewards ignorance and a lack of critical thinking skills. They obediently fill the chair with the RNC bogeyman du jour and rage at it on cue. If makes life simple and blissful.

The fun part about this is that it's basically a meme by Internet people laughing at Eastwood's Grandpa Simpson moment that the GOP is trying to co-opt as if everyone was actually supporting Eastwood against Imaginary Obama.

Really though, it absolutely is a great symbol of how Republicans have engaged with Obama from day 1. Doesn't matter that Reality Obama would fit right in with the 1990s Republican party, he's actually the socialist nazi, does-nothing totalitarian, gun-hating gun-spreading, stupid maniacally-genius, entitlement-growing Medicare-shrinking, mean-campaigning weak-willed-apologizing, Antichrist.

This is great for conservatives. A nice way of distracting attention from the fact that Romney got a pretty awful convention bounce -- Gallup still has Obama ahead by 1, even though they've been leaning right all cycle, and Nate Silver's model has Romney with about the lowest chance to win he's had all year.

And to top it off, they don't even seem to get that the whole "empty chair" meme is making fun of Eastwood and the mindless opposition to imaginary misrepresentations of Obama, not Obama himself.

Have fun with the chairs! :)

Why because his comment was rational, coherent and supportable by facts? Would you feel more comfortable if he ranted about Muslims?

No, because if obama did this he and all the other lefties would be all cheering for him. I am uncomfortable because he refuses to condemn muslim extremists

Why not do P&N a solid and leave your PC chair empty until after you've lost the election OP? Your posts get more desperate and pathetic as November nears... stop posting stupid and giving people from our great state a bad name.

Lighten up, it's a holiday.

On another note, why do conservaties see humor in this minor movement that will be forgotten tomorrow and the progs are all in a twist? That's a rhetorical question for the slower among us.

The same reason that liberals see humor in "minor movements" that make their opponents (allegedly) look bad, while the conservatives get all in a twist.

But you knew that already, I'm sure.

Forced meme is forced. Shows just how barren conservatards are.

This one, however, was up in minutes:

I think the best thing I've heard in response to the crazy speech Eastwood gave is the following.
Jon Stewart said:
I could never wrap my head around why the world and the President that Republicans describe bears so little resemblance to the world and the President that I experience. And now I know why, there is a President Obama that only Republicans can see.
