They could just cut down the chip to 336 cores and make it a gtx560se at 823 core it would beat a 6850 easy and be dam close to a 6870 for less money.

Then land a fully enabled gf106 chip called the gts550 with performance of a gtx460 768 and stick it in between a 5770 and 6850 performance.

Well thats what I'd do. 🙂
