I haven't seen any studies on this but I have noticed it from my own experience. I know plenty of very intelligent women but there seem to be much fewer at the genius level than men. Like others have mentioned I just assumed that the standard deviation for men is greater.

The problem with women in the past was they got screwed over by marriage (i.e. losing their opportunity to progress their education further) and lack of acceptance in society.

The current education system favors women, and gives men less opportunities to advance upto college. After which, the roles reverse.

I don't think either gender is smarter than the other, there doesn't appear to be any genetic basis for that. Smartness = how much effort you put in/environment you grew up in.

yea that is the sat thing, men are far more likely to have top performers, perfect scores and such, but also far more likely to be retarded to the extent where almost all the answers are wrong

no there is some difference, the variability for males is more extreme. after all if women play it safe, they generally can reproduce as long as their standards aren't ridiculous, and so genes favor safe behavior generally.

you see the result in tests and the rest, men are more likely to move for jobs and the rest. the really messed up jobs as well. jails are 9/10 male, most school suspensions are male, most anything messed up is male generally, murder rape etc. so the average equality cannot exist. what is true though is more women are in college now, but that might be because they are better at working that system, but it may not translate into real world success.
