It's impossible for Trump to get the 270 electoral votes to win.

Right now, lets look again in 28 days

Especially if god forbid there was a big act of terrorism

Trump's numbers went down in Florida after the Orlando shooting. A thousand people could die tomorrow in a chemical attack and Trump would figure out how to come out of it looking worse.

Trump is his worst enemy. No doubt.

As the weeks whine to an end, the Trump campaign is going low, VERY LOW.
And if you watch any Trump or Pence rally, so are his people.
They are right there with him and all for going low with Trump.
What we do know and they do not know, those people amount to only 38%, maybe 40% at the most of the electorate.
A solid 38 - 40% that will support Trump matter what.
True, Donald did not shoot anyone on 5th Avenue and get away with it, but Donald did boast of what amounts to raping and groping women. And mind you all while married to his current wife.

Well, history in America has shown us over and over that going low never wins.
There are still plenty of "decent Americans" out there to keep us on the high road.

I was amused by that Trump supporter at the Pence rally.
She said that if Hillary wins, she wants a full on revolution.
Well, if I could talk to her I would simply say to her, LADY, MAYBE IF YOU HAD A LITTLE MORE LOVE IN YOUR OWN HEART, YOU WOULDN'T FEEL SO HATEFUL TOWARDS OTHERS.

These people, just as Donald Trump, are terribly flawed people.
They hold some deep inner grudge against everyone and anyone not them.
They do hate gays and blacks and hispanics (legal or not) and they hate the idea of helping even one single refugee fleeing war, and they hate the idea of the mixing of religious belief.

Face it, they as with Donald Trump want to make America great again by making America an ALL WHITE CHRISTIAN America. Period!
Blacks kept in their place and ignored, and forget about black lives matter. Never in their vision of America.
And they want a giant wall because no dark skinned people allowed in their America.
They want no women working nor shopping at Walmart that wears a head scarf.
They want an America all white, all Christian, all heterosexual America and they want America all walled in to keep it that way. And so does Donald Trump.
And THAT is why they all believe a mixed America has become such a terrible awful place to live.

Well, this 38 - 40% of America electorate cannot deliver a president Donald Trump.
Not by votes and not thru the electoral college.
Should that day ever come when they are the majority and elect the hate they so wallow in, I'm totally outta here.

Trump can still win, especially if voter turnout is low.

True, but I have a hard time seeing it that way. There's not a lot of fanfare about it but Libs are adamant about rejecting Trump. Nobody's staying home. Expect a very strong ground game from Dems.

From their lips to God's ears. Psychologically, I've been "ducking and covering" almost since he first announced his candidacy, way before "the media" were taking it seriously. These certainly are "interesting times" we're living in, to paraphrase that (probably apocryphal) "ancient Chinese curse"...

The election day has yet to come. We are dealing with human affairs here, about which nothing is 100%.

So all the Dems are adamantly against Trump, and a lot of Repubs are vehemently against Trump, including most of their top leadership in Congress.

So how is it that he still has a "good chance" at winning this race? The independents are going to decide it? I don't think there are that many fence sitters to make a difference.

I just don't see it ever happening.

Even on this forum, there are many who are either sitting out this election or voting for somebody other than the top two candidates.

I just do not believe the voter turn out is going to be any higher this presidential election than others. On the contrary, it could be lower because of the disgust towards both the candidates.

Sure, the faithful and committed are coming out, on both sides. But, again on both sides and for different reasons, a LOT of voters may stay home. In any event, this is no time for complacency. Shit happens. Trump already has. Who fully saw THAT coming?

I'm staying home and id vote for Hillary over Trump if someone held a gun to my head. But i live in KS so that vote wouldnt count. I keep telling you fools the EC is a joke, but whatever. Bring on 100% true popular vote so every vote counts.

My comments were wrt Dems staying home because of the perception that Clinton has it in the bag. No Lib or Progressive worthy of the name will refrain from adding their small bit to the death of a million cuts for the Trump campaign. I think that's probably true for a lot of independents, as well, despite all the FUD about Hillary.

She's right about one thing, for sure- Trump is unfit to lead this great nation. That realization will only become more apparent up until election day. It's all been fun & games up 'til now, particularly for the Trumpsters, but this is where it gets real. The only way Trump wins is through some dark & highly unlikely twist of fate.

I've seen this on a few news sites. They are saying that it is more difficult than ever for Trump to reach those 270 electoral votes. I'm sure if he loses, many of his voters are going to cry foul.

BTW, his FB page is pretty scary.

You also have to put that video in context as well. That video was shot on 9/27. The landscape has changed dramatically since. Clinton is up in Ohia, FL and NC and is up big in CO per real clear politics. If his path to 270 was hard when this video was shot it's almost nearly impossible as of today.

There's some risk you're living in a bubble of like-minded folks, as many of us on all sides tend to be. Yes, as I said, the committed and the faithful will turn out. But also, as I said, on the (relatively large) margins there are innumerable folks of all stripes who will simply not be impelled to get up off their asses and vote.

Not only doesn't the "average person" post in P&N, the average person is unfathomably (to you and me) uniformed/misinformed/worrying more about their next meal.

"Illary" fainted once, so that means she is like 1000 years old and likely wont live long enough to get elected.
Dead people only get elected in Chicago.
