But not unknown. Check the record highs for Januray, It's been this warm before.

Global warming is about trends and averages, not short term weather variations.

Did you even read the other thread talking about how warm it is on the East Coast?

It's + degrees in Northen Norway and the grass has started to grow, the flowers think it's sping, moste of the hedgehogs are up still and the bears have not gone into hibernation.

This is the first time this has happened during my lifetime and my grandmother says she can't ever remember a winter that was warmer than most springs are up there.

Something is very wrong with the weather and it's more extreme than ever, you can cancel your skiing trips, for the first time since the trips started it's not cold enough so you can even use the snow cannons, it just melts as it hits the ground.

I'll expect some kind of huge natural disaster following this and then all who don't live where it occurs can say "no biggie, just a natural cycle, we can't do anything about it because we have not caused it".

Yay for not living where it happens i guess and for those that do, well, everyone will have to die eventually.

Asking people rather than checking factual records is the surest way to get things wrong.

As I pointed out in the other thread, and this one, the temps in the Northeastern US are near, but NOT record setting. There have been warm spells in January like this before.

Do yourself a favor. Look up the historical record high temps for your area.

I'm loving it. I actually had to take my coat off today. Winter in NYC usually sucks total ass, but this one is pretty sweet so far. It hasnt been get me the hell inside, I'm going to get frostbite if I stand out here any longer cold yet.

We are Americans and as such are greedy, self centered arse holes. If it ain't happening to me, it ain't happening.

LOL @ everyone completely ignoring how cold the west coast is. Been very cold here in Washington, and this is the most snow I've seen in 15 years.

People in northern climates are loving it. Everyone else, not so much.

Summers in most of the world now are totally intolerable, you feel like you're going out of your mind.
