I easily got on just this morning, Sunday 10/6.
Site was quite fast.
Extremely easy to navigate.
Obviously, site was designed with a kid or tea party member as user in mind.
Its pretty no brainer easy.
Most involved part was to verify your identify via the email that was sent out IMMEDIATELY, after creating the logon account.
Then further verification via personal info, SS#, a few past history questions like your high school attended, or year of automobile, or other basic past history.
You select the correct match(s) and away you go.
So obviously very secure. It knows you are you.
This also must be accessing federal information to verify you are you.

Then a series of questions about who you are applying for, yourself, family, illegal alien friends. ( the last one I just tossed in to piss off republicans :D )

As you continue, the page scrolls down so that you can scroll up to edit any previous info you entered. That was pretty nice.
Several summary pages to let you review your entries.

Then the process was able to know I currently have employer based health insurance and asked for information on that. I guess it is wondering why I was applying when I already had insurance thru employment.
Not that it would stop me from continuing on.
But I stopped the process there.
I just wanted to see if the ACA site was working now, and at least for me, it was.
Actually I was impressed at the speed, response, and ease of use.
Layout was extremely user friendly.

So whatever was done over the weekend, the site seems to be working fine.
That was my experience Sunday am.

So.... now what will Faux News have to harp about next?
The site is too easy?
The security is too strict?
The page color hurts their eyes?
The selection of background music to play while navigating the site? (another piss them off :D )

lol

How many of you that are complaining about similar plans doubling or tripling in cost have checked the exchanges to see if you can get something similar at a lower cost (before complaining)? If so, how do comparable plans compare? Are there ones slightly worse at decent prices? Are you already on a ridiculous plan that would normally cost people an arm and a leg? I want numbers and specifics! (Serious question for people that have actually done comparisons before coming here and complaining.)

.

I did shop the exchange...

I can get a comparable plan through the same provider for about the same money as I pay right now... before my 125/month hike I was just notified of. the kicker is, they require me to have a dental plan for my kid, so at the end of the day it would cost me $30/month more than I currently pay. then there is the fact the site isn't allowing me to get full details of the plans so I might be missing something.

No fib. Easily accessed this morning. The local paper just had an article last week about issues with the ACA site. No one in the state could sign up.
Well that has changed as of Sunday am around here.
I just tried logging into the account I created again, and now it says:
We have a lot of visitors on the site right now.
Please stay on this page.

But it was flying along early this morning, I created a login, an account, went they the verification process, and stopped when it detected I already had employer based healthcare.

Im sure they are improving it asap.
I was able to use it earlier, no issues at all.
So hang in there people.
I know how frustrating it must be to be both a tea party right wing ani-Obamacare republican AND unable to apply for ACA simultaneously.

So wait a minute.... People can't be asked for voter ID when voting but it's ok to ask them to go to a website and navigate? Fucking hypocrisy and pathetic from you.

I love the people comparing their employer based plans to ACA plans and assuming that their employer contributes nothing :D

OMG IT IS 3.3X AS MUCH!

That is because your employer is paying the vast majority of your health insurance.

Your funny.
No idea what you're talking about....
Knock off the coffee.

Naturally, to signup online for ACA it will verify you.
Ever use the social security site or IRS site? Same thing.

PS.
Just an FYI for those that want to but have not yet been able to used the site.
The signup process, at one point, did give me a shock until I realized what it was stating.
The point where it asks if you are applying for YOURSELF, or YOURSELF AND OR A FAMILY MEMBER, or you are a NON RESIDENT.
Stating below the NON RESIDENT selection, that non residents could apply and get ACA.

I thought HOLY CRAP, here we go. Illegals getting Obamacare just like republicans claimed.
Then I realized this NON RESIDENT option is for just that.
Possibly students here legally, or legal nonresidents with a green card.
And that made sense.
If someone is in this country legally as a non resident, a student for example, then if they are willing to pay they can also buy into health insurance exchange.
btw...JUST LIKE THEY CAN NOW (before anyone freaks out over the issue).

All that an exchange is, is private insurers taking part in the ACA pools.
Any current "LEGAL" non resident "COULD" go directly to Well-mark, UnitedHealthCare, HumanaOne, CoventryOne, Assurant, Celtic, or whomever and buy a policy.
Sorry republicans, but thats just the way it works. Always has. Even before Obamacare.

So it makes sense that ACA would allow "legal" non residents to buy into the exchange.
I mean, legal non residents in this country for school, work, employment would rather have insurance than end up in the ER uninsured. Right?
So would the parents of those "legal" non residents, feel relief knowing their son or daughter had health insurance while away in this country.
And this is not free, they still pay to join the exchange.

But I see now how Faux News and anti ACA crowd keep saying that illegals will have insurance for free thru Obamacare. I can see how they would twist that lie.

The signup process is highly secure. Everything, and by everything I mean "YOU", everything is verified securely.
There is no way in hell an illegal could signup for ACA. PERIOD!
I just hope the site gets up to par to those "legal US citizens" can get signed. :D

Is your current policy taken out pre-tax?
