Check it out ... is this BAD ?

Cause? Details here... but how long can I run the machine like this ? Keep in mind the Orb is rated at 5500RPM... and it looks like it's running at ~800 ?! The new fan was just ordered this morning...

**UPDATE**
So I receive my new Speeze CPU fan from Newegg today (5 short days after ordering from Newegg - they rock) ... take a minute to install (damn nice feature on the clip for a screwdriver head to assist) ... and voila:

COOL, been running all day ...

I have had this machine running 24/7 for as long as I can remember. Only this month I have turned it off for overnight to check for electric bill differences. Funnily enough, the fan started making wacky noises just this month, but I wonder how long it's been at this temp...

CPU doesn't seem to be adversely affected... hmm...

Ordered this Speeze based on the 75 user reviews.
Not bad at all.

I use a huge Cidicom copper base unit with 8000rpm fan. Runs quiet too.

My GOD, Newegg rules... I put this order in this afternoon...

Scan Activity - Date/Time - Comments
Left FedEx Origin Location/CITY OF INDUSTRY CA - 04/17/2003 - 18:09

It's already on its way! I was actually considering paying them an extra $3 to rush processing too...

really though... if it doesnt stop working soon, its not a problem... if its stable under stress....

I would say that the life of that proccessor is short lived, even if it is stable.

I have since shut it down for the night. I'm on my laptop in bed. At time of shutdown, it was 174F... so it wasn't getting any hotter...

Thermal migration = burn a friggin hole in the chip?

Thank god you decided to shut it down. Would have burned up while you slept. I noticed you changed your avatar. Maybe one of your shrooms got caught in the fan . . .

All my rigs have run hot... my Tbird 800 @ 1gig used to push 60c in the summer... so far the hotest my TBred A 1700 @ 1.8ghz @ 1.85v w/ Pal8045+Vantec Stealth has hit is ~56c.... and I leave them running all day long no problem.

Thermal migration = CPU no work... ick.
I get worried if I see anything more than 44deg C on the CPU! It's like an OVEN in your case!
