It's fvcking cold

It's been like this cold for the whole afternoon too. Sucks huh? 40s.. yea we see 30s and even 20s sometimes in CA at night, but 40s all day? Ugh.

What's worse is the fvcking library has the air on. I can feel cool air flowing.

My apartment's heating is broken. I have my halogen lamp turned on and my CPU doing stress prime, and it's still ~55 only.

Actually I'm fine that it's cold outside. I'm not fine that no one has heating on indoors. Oh and I know based on the HEATER POLL on ATOT that everyone keeps their homes warmer than mine.

I grew up having the heat on at 61 in my home. Even then it's cool because our house faces N/S and by default if we don't leave it on, it'll be in the 40s/50s in the winter. So yes I'm used to the cold, and usually I wear a t-shirt and jeans around my home even in the 60 degree cold.

Meh... It's -8 here dropping to -20. The last time I was in CA was January 5 years ago. I played a round of golf. I was grouped with three other guys and we were playing twilight tees. I wore a golf shirt and shorts. It was 60 when we started. These guys brought multiple jackets each so they could layer up as the mercury dropped. None of them wore shorts. After the turn, one guy looked at me (he had already put on one jacket) and asked if I needed to borrow one of his jackets.

"Nah, I'm fine."
"Where are you from?"
"Alaska"
"Ohhhhh"

On the last hole we met up with another foursome and played it together since the sun was almost gone. So here is this foursome in front of us... and everyone of them was decked out... long pants, sweaters with jackets... and here comes my foursome... sweaters, jackets and long pants... and me. Shorts and a shirt.

A guy from the first foursome looked at one of the guys from my foursome and asked what the hell was wrong with me.

"He's visiting from Alaska"
"Ohhh"

It took 6 phonecalls from a friend for me to decide to finally lift my covers and walk around my room to get my phone.

Honestly, my stupid apartment and its heating problems suck. 50 is one of those temperatures where you can get by wearing a hoodie but your fingers are gonna start getting cold. That is the problem I have right now.

I'm sure anyone whose heater was broken would be whining like me. I'm almost certain I can take the cold as good as most people out there in the rest of the nation, so stop saying I'm a whiny Californian who's used to only sunshine because I'm NOT from SoCal.

I am only 10 min from you (apparently we live in few of the most coldest and windiest cities in the Bay area 🙁 )

You are in Berkeley and I am in Alameda (both are right on the water with cold wind blowing in directly from all across the bay 🙁 )

Upset that it's sounding kinda truthful today, or is it just your cali bias speaking?

It's 46 here in Ohio. This has been a warm winter. You guys are crying about the temperature. Get over it. There isn't a thing you can say that will warrant sympathy from anyone even a mile further north than you.
 
Kahleeforneeyan's have no sympathy for anyone not smart enough to move away from someplace that consistently gets too cold for shorts and sandals...and SNOW? FVCK that.....
