so, tonight thursday the twelth at about 9:30 pm we drove up towards mount baker and out into some rural neighborhood...looking for van zandt dike, which is supposed to be a great spot to watch the perseid meteor shower. We can't find the road to turn off, so we turn onto an unnamed road, cross a one lane bridge, go past a road sign that says 'dip.' The unnamed road goes for awhile, and eventually it turns into gravel, so we decide to turn around. As I'm turning around, out of nowhere I see this dirt road that is severly overgrown with trees and bushes. I drive down it. Sara is scared shitless tellling me to turn back. The car brushes against tree limbs. It is so dark and thick that we can barely see ten feet in front of us, even with the brights on. We're seriously getting freaked out by the spookiness of this road...so I back out and get back on the unnamed road. Driving back on the unnamed road, I go a little fast around the bend and my car skids. The road is completely dry. My car simply skidded out of control like we were on ice. We almost end up in a ditch. Fortunately, we survive and pull into an empty lot, surrounded by trees. We lay on top of my car and watch the stars. We see a satelite travelling way to fast for it to be a satellite, and its definately not a plane. Apparently, the meteors are made of ice. They leave behind water vapor that hangs in the sky. It is extremely beautiful. By this time it's getting late. Then we hear some rustling in the trees behind us. Its getting louder and louder, so Jeremy gets scared and we leave. When we get back into town it is 11:59...one minute before friday the thirteenth.
