I've watched every Giants game this year. The O line is bad, but you got it backwards. Warner was making them look alot worse than they actually are. The guy does not know how to throw a ball away. He holds on to the thing forever, of course he's gonna take big hits. I'm screaming at the TV for him to throw the ball away when he's being chased, but he obviously doesn't hear me.

Also, when Warner had receivers open he missed them on several occassions. He missed wide open shockey in Arizona game. He almost missed shockey, wide open again, in Min game. Instead of catching the ball and running for a TD, Shockey had to make a circus one handed diving catch. Yes, because of o-line woes he didn't have a lot of deep opportunities, but when he had he didn't take advantage of them.

I think all anyone saying Eli is going to run into a brick wall, they are just trying to keep a realistic look on the situation when in reality he's been thrown in there to appease fans into thinking that they have a chance of winning. Don't think that, keep you expectations low because they are realistic ones. Roethlisberger in Pittsburg is a success story if and only if because they have not had to rely on him, I think he averages only 8 passes in the second half and only 24 or so the entire game. I think any decent QB in Pittsburg could be just as successful whereas the situation in NY looks grim, I honostly do not think that Eli's brother and current obvious choice for MVP could salvage the situation and keep their playoff hopes alive - they need the rest of the team to step up in a big way because I seriously doubt they'll win 4 more games if they don't.

He played well, the Giants are just not used to catching bullet passes, they're used to Warner's floaters. It'll take some adjusting.

Going to be rough, 0-1 so far

They get to host Philly next, who have run over everyone except the AFC North (lost big to the Steelers but won close ones against the Browns and Raves), beating every team not in the AFC North by double digits. We already saw the pre season game against Philly where Eli gets hammered. That game is most likely a loss.

Then they go to Washington, who did have the leagues 2nd best defense before this week (not sure what they are at now), thats a game they can win because Washington's offense isn't exactly the hottest thing out there at the moment. I'll give the Giants a win here simply because the Redskins haven't even gotten past 18 points in one game this season - terrible terrible offense.

Then they go to Baltimore, who has actually found some offense under Boller their past two games, couple that with the league's best scoring defense and I smell another Giants loss.

Then they host Pittsburg, still the NFL's hottest team, do I smell an upset? I don't think so, if there is to be an upset for the Steelers it'll probably be @ Jacksonville or with the visiting Jets... losing 2 games in a row or in 3 weeks not likely but you never know, Steelers simply dominate the possession of the ball even when they are playing crappy. Another loss.

Then the go on the road again to Cincinnati, who just played ball with the Steelers and were two mistakes away from stopping the Steeler's 7-0 run. Cinci leads the league in take aways (and INTs) and have one of the best homefield advantages for a team with a losing record, they look like a completely different team when playing at home, one that could make a run past the wild card round of the playoffs. If the game were in NY then I'd say that's a possible Eli win but I give the edge the Bengals in this one. Another loss.

Last game of the season they host Dallas, and unless Henson is the miracle spark the Cowboys need, thats probably one of their most "sure" wins they'll get on their extremely rough schedule. I'll chalk that up as a win for now (we'll have to see how the 'Boys play under a different QB before its a 'sure' thing)

Eli Manning needed to go 4-3 as a starter in order to get the team to 9-7 and be realistically alive for the playoffs, now he's 0-1 and needs to go 4-2 when I can see them going 2-4 in an ideal situation

It'll definately be impressive if Eli can squeeze a "mere" 3 wins out of the schedule and match his Brother's first seaon win total even when starting after the half way mark.
