and finally, after months doing nothing and lagging, my project is done.

edit: TKS Twista for the link!

edit 2: Everything was made from scratch, all the holes, cuts.

the only thing missing in the pics is the LED inside the HDD, I wired it to the HDD activity pins on the mobo, I guess I plugged something wrong, will fix it soon. Once I get an OS on this sucker, I'll get the graphic VFD working too. Also, when the DVD-Rom is closed 2 green leds are on, when it opens, a super bright blue led turns on.

and I have to give credit where's it's due. I got the idea from
here

Linear wrote a great guide, I read it, borrowed his "square design" and this case is the finished product.

Wow! :Q That is way cool! Did you cut the acrylic yourself? Did you do everything yourself? I.E. all the holes, the design etc?

That's a great job. I like the see thru HD and DVD. Watching the HD work must be a trip. :D More details, please.

Where's the HDD LED mounted? It'd be cool to get a Surface Mounted LED (tiny) and stick it on the end of the HDD read/write head, and have it linked to the activity signal headers. Don't know if that'd throw off it's movement though.

what's that LCD next to the dvd? and that HD.... no afraid of dust in there now?

yea, I def. can use a better camera, wish I have the money.

the lcd is a vfd, i don't have the software to run it yet.

there's a filter over the only intake so dust shouldn't be too bad in there.

You need to submit pics and story to MaximumPC! They have a readers "Rig of the Month" on the last page of each issue that features nice custom case mods. Yours would have to make the cut! I would love to see the HD work!
