My Powerbook G4 has eaten its second adapter now. I'm not inclined to feed it a third. I'm curious to know if this has happened to anyone else though. Plus **sadness** (and yet happiness), I'm using a friend's old Dell laptop in the meantime. (sadness, windows; happiness internet access still)
The wire going from the brick to the PB first gets hot, and then hotter over time. It browns the cord (I've seen that happen, so have many people, and it was ok). Mine seems to take it a bit further, and then continue getting hotter and hotter. The PB itself gets quite a bit hotter, as does the brick. Eventually, it melts the cord just as the exit point from the brick (the thin one leading to the laptop), and then shorts in case I didn't notice. Thank goodness, I've not electrocuted myself nor caught anything on fire.
Thoughts?
Sagalore had a thought, but I'm going to save it and see what you all thought.
