Its Cyber Monday lets compare HDD's

So I've been looking around for a few days now, and I can't make up my mind on an internal hard drive.

When I saw that http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822152185 was sold out, I almost cried. But then I got to thinking, "there's more to the hard drive than just that '2TB' number."

So, it has 2TB, but probably lacks other things, but idk what.TB.[/B]

Can someone give me this gist of what to look for in HDD's. I'm currently ordering parts to build my first gaming rig! Here's my main link:

All I need now is HDD, i5 2500k processor, and possibly water cooling system!

Linking actual HDD's from newegg, etc would be ideal!

But since it is cyber monday, I am looking for a DEAL. And I know its hard to come by with the flooding in Thailand.

Thanks in advance!!

2TB is the size which is the same as 2000GB which is the same as 2 million MB.
Your best bet for HDs is shop at a local retailer (bestbuy), not online (at this time).
7200RPM is how fast it spins. Usually, you want the fastest available, most people pick these for their OS drive, but then again, more and more people are using SSDs for their OS drive now.
Also note that all drives will fail sooner or later, so you need a backup plan.

Read some reviews for HDs on some sites to get a better understanding of how everything all works together. Pick a search engine, and start reading up if you really want to.

Usually, any "green" drive isn't good for the OS drive. Most any 7200RPM is good enough, and there is virtually no difference between SATA 3Gbps vs SATA 6Gbps. Get whatever is cheaper.

So, I just ordered the one I listed above since its 1TB (more then I'll need) and 7200RPM. Also got the two year warranty for 15 bucks.

you may want to consider an SSD as well. Would highly recommend it.
