You mean he was...

The kicker is our last name is indelibly interwoven with the Nazi party. As our last name means eagle. The

When Patton presented him with the Soldier's medal they took pics and it made some newspapers. I have all of Pop's medals and one of the newspaper clippings with his pic and the caption about Patton presenting him with it. Pop surmised it was because it made for great propaganda. Adler is a prominent German Jewish name.
Some of my people died in those concentration camps, so I have cause for serious beef. I don't observe the Jewish faith, but those were still kinfolk my father was avenging. Nazis fucked around, they found out. This new breed of uber-douche better just keep cosplaying it. Because if they fuck around some more, they will find out again.
My dad did the Pacific Island tour. Saipan, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, Okinawa...then was killed in Korea.
Your father was an absolute legend. I am sure you are proud as can be of him, even though you would have preferred to have him with you instead. He'd of been proud of you in turn, for fighting it out and surviving the shitshow war you got thrown in.
My Pop worked with the wounded army vets that came back from Korea and Vietnam. He was director of special projects at the Valley Forge Medical complex.

I have been considering making a thread about my father. I have pics of him on the golf course with President Ike, Arnold Palmer, and Jack Nicolaus. Some other celebrities mixed in the pics too. Philly sportsman of the day. Eagles and pro boxers of the era. All there to help cheer up the vets being cared for at the complex.
My surviving older bro has the pics of Bob Hope. Man have a got a - that doesn't sound like Bob Hope - story my Pop told me. If you guys want to hear it. Some other pics from the medical center and even some of the war. One he traded a captured German officer some Hershey's bars and Lucky Strikes for IIRC.
