My Favs:
Bone Thugs N Harmony- Every CD.
Three-6-Mafia- Older stuff, and When The Smoke Clears.
Koopsta Knicca- Devil's Playground

Song Im really into right know is that song by Jay-Z "Give it to Me" i aint really a big Jay-Z fan but for some reason that song is just dope. and that Miss Jackson son by Outkast is tight as hell too.

Anybody got any Three-6-Mafia Unheards or any of their underground stuff PM with song names and maybe I can find em on Napster. Thanks

I love hip-hop & R&B. I like some rap. I like so many artists. I can't think of them all. Ummm.... Nelly (SP?) is really good. Jay-Z is good. I like Joe. Gawd, that's all I can think of right now. My poor mind went blank. But, that is what I listen to. :)

EDIT: Oh yeah, I like Shaggy and Bone Thugs N Harmony too. Lauryn Hill also has a great voice. :)

Did someone mention Nelly? PFahahah

He's got the same rhymes over similar sounding beats. It sounds like they use the same instruments over the same album, just rearranged. I dunno about anywhere else - but no one around here is feelin him. He's flat out wack

Nelly is absolute garbage, i don't see how anyone can say he's not, him and his St. Lunatics are an insult to hip hop in general. It's nice to see someone else in here knows who the Pharcyde is though, i was listening to Passin Me Buy just the other day, great song for those of you who haven't heard it. Anyone mention Craig Mack yet, yeah he was good back in his day. Das Efx and Fu-Schnickens had their time too, so ya gotta give them credit, Canibus has yet to impress me though, and i'm depressed for having bought his first album. GP WU is another of my favs. although not many have heard of them, theyr'e not Wu tang affiliates or anything, but they're good as hell. and noone can forget Gangstar, who along with Tribe paved the way for hip hop in the 90's. they set new levels to achieve.

Bonk - have you heard his 2nd album? The production and the general direction of the whole thing is so much more uniform than Can-I-Bus was. If you haven't heard it yet - check it out

Wooo I'm home from work.:) Don't think I'm going to let this thread die so quickly.;)

I got a question.

How do you prounce Mos Def? I always thought it was mOs Def, like "most" deaf. A crappy radio station around here plays Miss Phat Booty every once in a while and prounces it Moss Def, like you would find "moss" on the side of a tree. I have a feeling the idiot DJ's are wrong, but I'd rather make sure.

Oooo another question, but this one is a bit OT.

Why can african-americans call white people crackahs (or beloved patriot, fishbelly, snowflake, etc.), but the second niggah is thrown into the mix, that white person is instantly labeled a racist POS? Black people have B.E.T. but if a W.E.T. ever came into being marches and lobbyists would put the channel out of business in a matter of days.

Sometimes the world is so hypocritical. I guess I shouldn't judge seeing how I never went through persecution (seeing how I'm Macedonian) and I may not understand the meaning behind the word *shrug*

(BTW, this question came to mind while I was listening to Dead Prez. It seems every other word that comes out of their mouths is "crackah" - damn good lyracist though:p)

kotchy, who the FUCK are YOU talking about? i think you should stop posting ignorant ass comments like that.

knight, its pronounced MOS as in MOST. call the radio station and make fun of the djs, hahah

as for WET, this was answered by a WHITE comedian on comic view.......Thats just about EVERY other network!!! :D:D:D

as for DP, these guys are NOT mild rappers. they BELIEVE EVERYTHING that they say. and when they refer to crackas, i dont think they mean EVERYBODY, just those hipocrits.

That's what I thought.:p

<< as for WET, this was answered by a WHITE comedian on comic view.......Thats just about EVERY other network!!! >>

Then that comedian doesn't know what he's talking about. Every commercial, every TV show, every music video has absolutely NO white people. You can say all the other networks have no black people, but that's BS. The majority may be white, but the fact remains.

I guess this is just going to be one of those things that I'm just going to have to accept. No big deal really.

I suppose your right.

I hate to break it to you squares, but all the "artists" you worship are sucker MC's. Eminem, Jay-Z, etc are all fake rappers who rap to fake beats and are only in it for the money. If you want to hear some real music, go buy an old school Too $hort CD or Ant Banks new tape or anything by E-40. I don't know if it's something in the water up there, but Oakland rappers seem to have more game than anyone else. I have to admit that Short Dawg is past his prime, but you've got to apreciate this man's longevity. Shorty has been rapping since 1983!! And he's still spitting his pimp game. So if you want to hear some real raps go on Napster and get some Short Dawg tunes. "Just Another Day", "Invasion of the Flat Booty B*tches", and "The Dangerous Crew"(with Ant Banks!) are some of his good songs, though Short literally dozens of phat raps.

Jay-Z was originally aight but he's been getting wacker with each new album. I've also noticed that he steals pieces of lyrics from other rappers (mainly BIG).

Umm... did you even listen to what the majority of us in here listen to? Sucker MC's? I, as well as most of the rest of us, dislike JayZ and his kind.

Too $hort?! You must be joking me. His beats were always sub-par and every other word out of his mouth was "fuck." His lyrics may have been alright, but cursing every chance you get overshadows any meaning the lyrics may actually have.

<< Invasion of the Flat Booty B*tches >>

My brother has the album that that song came off of. Its a prime example of what I was talking about.

He (I'm unfamiliar with the other artists you mentioned) can't hold a candle to the likes of The Roots or Talib Kwali or even Defari for that matter.
