I bought an item from Amazon - $49.99 w/ free shipping
I returned said item unopened - They paid for return USPS Shipping (as confirmed by the shipping label itself, the documentation I have, and even the gentlemen on the phone confirmed so as well)

I get refunded $48.33, a $1.66 difference

The e-mail I got didn't reflect why there was a difference from the purchase price and refund price so i called, he can't explain it either and keeps putting me on hold to figure it out.

As i said, the amount is beyond trivial, i have $1.66 in change stuck between the seats of my car. But what I find to be comical, is that they can't figure out why there is a discrepancy.

So, i turn to you, the collective mind of ATOT. Amazon themselves can't figure it out, can you? :)

Depends on the state you live in, they were originally just in Nevada but have since added locations in other states.

"Items sold by Amazon.com LLC, or its subsidiaries, and shipped to destinations in the states of Kansas, Kentucky, North Dakota, or Washington are subject to tax."

are they adding PA to that list? I am hearing commercials for Amazon warehouse jobs in PA now.
