It's been a while since I did AutoCAD, but...

Anyone want to explain this floor plan I saw on a website for an apartment complex I live near?

I drew some fucked up floor plans when I was taking drafting...but they all made more sense than that one.

How do you get out of the bedroom? Go through a window?

Or better yet, how do you get in?

Ok, how many things can we find wrong with this layout?

1. Second bedroom doesn't have an entrance/exit.
2. You have to travel through the master bedroom to reach the common rooms of the living room and kitchen.
3. When you open the front door it blocks the corridor to the bathroom (I am anticipating more than one bloody nose from that).
4. The master bedroom does not have a closet but the living room does.
5. The double doors from the bedroom to the living room seem ridiculous. I would suspect that they would be glass paned doors but that would first imply added expense (and after the money they spent on the architect how could they afford such extravagances?) and secondly it would mean a complete loss of privacy to the master bedroom.

Anything else?

EDIT: They shoud use sliding doors for the closet in the living room. The closet is wide enough but the normal door plus the double doors means you lose a lot of floor space for clearance.

"Bedroom" is obviously a secret bonus room for hiding slaves, Jews or growing copious amounts of marijuana.

First rule about bedroom...

Also, this isn't an AutoCAD issue, this, my friend, is an idiot issue.

What is that square in the corner of the kitchen supposed to be?

Dishwasher is the one on top and the fridge is the lower one I believe. I gotta be honest, that isn't what I recall a dishwasher being represented as but let's not make any assumptions of accuracy on the part of these plans.

Yeah that's all I could think of, too, but if it is, it's another fail by placing it as far away from the sink as possible.

Motion to change thread title to - would you want to live here?

As others have said it isn't an AutoCAD problem...

Link to website? I am amazed that such a complete cluster exists.

I don't know what that block in the top of the kitchen is supposed to be, but dishwashers are generally not 1.5x as wide as ranges. However the accuracy of this drawing is suspect to begin with, so who the eff knows... It does have its upsides though.

Master bedroom encourages social networking and synergy by serving a cross functional role as a hallway.

Eco-friendly design reduces resource consumption by eliminating bedroom door.

New Trim-Fit™ kitchen design encourages healthy choices by preventing fatties from sitting down to eat.

Confusing nook next to the bathroom at the end of the hall is a great place to store your crushed soul if you have to live here.

Haha. I missed the nook. It looks like they designed a place for me store all the tubes of half used wrapping paper.

It would be fine if they just removed the door from the bedroom to the living room and added a door from the main hallway to the living room.
