I used to weigh 465 at max little over 2 years ago in a 6x shirt, happy to report as of now Im down to 335 and in a 3x shirt. I was in the 350's in my blood sugar, on insulin, and 3 pills, Im now on 1 pill and in the 120's. My blood pressure was 190/120, am now 110/70.

Since hurting my back back in 2001 I havent been able to do anything still really, and wasnt mobile at all 2 years ago. I was to have a band put in and starved, but decided to just starve myself instead. I pushed the food away, and have been taking a one a day pill twice a day and eating around 2pm. I eat what ever I want, but I just dont eat much of it. Thats it. And since then, I now get around better. My back and knees are still jacked and I suffer from constant pain all the time 24/7, but I can get around now, and no longer need the motorized cart at wal mart and have sold my wheelchair I had here at the house. I also no longer use my cane either. But the pain it really bad in my back for Im bone on bone and they want to operate and I dont want it, Ive talked to too many people who have had it done, and more people Ive talked to that have had it done have wished they didnt, so Im just going to suffer for as long as I can, till I absolutely cannot take it anymore at all. Pain pills do nothing for it at this point its that bad, they just get me high, weeeeeeeeeeeee, but as far as killing the pain, nah.

I also have had another kid, a baby girl, she is 15 months old, her name is Carolann, total surprise for us considering I wasnt supposed to have any. Though I had Nathon 6 months into my marriage, and then with no protection at all, 15 years later I was blessed with her. Wouldnt change it for the world, she is an absolute doll

But anyway, thats it, just thought Id post a update since I really havent been on here much lately, and I kinda been peeping my head back in here and there.

OH YEAH.....btw, my avatar is what I used to look like, here is me now.....that was taken in 2014, and Ive lost even more weight then that, I dont have anything more current I can find right now, atm, but as you can see in my face, Ive lost quite a bit.

If you want to loose another substantial portion all you have to do is claw your way to the top of mount fuji.
I lost something like 80lbs in two days doing that. Seriously.
If that's a bit to far to go, then maybe find a local snow capped mountain :awe:

Seriously though, congratulations. Hope you continue to work at it and see improvement. I know that as you loose more weight each pound becomes harder to get rid of. Just keep working at it, and don't be afraid to seek professional help (trainer, dietitian etc) if you seem to hit a plateau.

If I hit a plateau, I have talked with a plastic surgeon to get this excess skin I have hanging on me all over to get it taken off me, and Ill just be happy with where Im at at that point, for anything will be better then almost at 500lbs. If I can get under the 300lb mark, Ill be happy, for as it sits now, Im under the 350lb mark I was at when I was in JR high, though I was at 245lbs in high school. Id like to be there again, but Im 44 now and doubt id get there, but to be around 260-270, would be awesome. Also keep in mind Im 6'4" ;)

I realize you have some serious pain, but have you been exercising each section to the full extent you can? Strength training is important any time, but it's especially helpful when trying to loose weight. You want to be sure you are loosing more fat than muscle, and exercise does that more than any diet can. Even if you cant lift weight, there are alternatives like stretching surgical tubing.

Skin is a living organ, it's capable of self repair and adjusting to changes in body size/mass. If you have a lot of excess skin, there's a good chance it's still holding onto it's own layer fat. If you can really workout those areas and burn off the local fat cells your skin can begin to pull itself tight. While surgery is an option, I think loose skin is a motivation to workout more.

This is where a professional can help. They can help figure out the caloric and nutrition levels you need to maintain an active healthy lifestyle that will burn fat. Starving yourself to much can have a bad effect. Causing your body to shed muscle while holding onto fat stores in an attempt to "survive". While also depriving you of the energy you need to stay active (thus further weakening the muscles).

Sometimes more is less, if you need an extra 300 calories a day for better nutrition and exercise that burns 500 calories of fat. I know I keep pushing the health pro line, but I think it's worthwhile before going the surgical route. As I said before, I do think surgery is an option, but only after you have made sure you're at a healthy steady state. And just because you are loosing weight, doesn't mean you are healthy.

Its been a rough 1 1/2 -2 year road but its been worth it. I loose anywhere from 8-12lbs a month still, not as much as I used to, but its still something.

I had my down and up too! I came down to about 345, then back to about 360, for I said fuck it one time, whats the point for I was fat and ugly, now Im getting skinny, and uglier with all this hanging skin off my belly getting closer to my dick. But knowing I can get it taken off me when I make it to my goal has helped me to know it wont be there for long, so Im pushing on and forward. Its gross as fuck, but its a damn if you dont damn if you do situation, for I really do like being mobile again.

That's pretty amazing that you did that weight loss based only on willpower and self determination. Heartfelt congrats are certainly in order.

Thanks, the first few months were very rough pushing the food away. Took a lot out of me, but now its nothing to do it. Key to it all really is to keep telling yourself you are going to lose weight over and over again in your head, it really helps believe it or not. You have control over your body, and I really believe that helped me lose some of the weight as well.

Love reading things like this. Those first few months are the worst. Then when you start seeing the change. Feeling different it makes the motivation factor jump sky high.

Keep at it!

Well done.

It's rather amazing how your body responds if you just begin doing sensible things. Portion control, avoiding the wrong foods. Just keep with it. You'll have regressions, but you know that. Over the long run "two steps forward, one step back" will work just as well or better than going body Nazi and thinking you can get skinny in six months.

If/when you're able, just a small amount of exercise each week will pay big dividends. If you still can't walk well, do a little weight training or get on a stationary bike for 15 or 20 minutes three times a week. If you can't do that yet, work up to it.

I think what you have done is really fantastic. Pushing food away is really tough. While I have my weight struggles, I cannot really relate to your issues and success. You've worked hard to substantially improve your life, and that is your reward.

Thanks man, and everyone else! The way I see it, if I can still average 10lbs a month, I got about another 8 months to go to be where Id really like to be. I sell my plasma every week, so Ill keep you all posted as far as my weight I guess since I get weighed everytime I go. In the last two weeks I went from 340 to 335lbs. I been hovering here for a bit lately but its starting to come down again, with your guys help, and encouraging me its going to help me more :D
