It's been 3:45 hours since installing Vista SP1 RC1

I downloaded the complete 436MB update file. This update is done purely for testing. I have a tested image available for rollback.

The computer is currently at (the circle is spinning)

Do not turn off your computer.

I don't know for how long it's been at this screen (presumingly at least 2 hours), but the installation is currently at 3 hrs 45 min and still counting. The setup screen indicated this should take about 1 hour and others have taken more than 2 hours. Mine is almost 4. When to call it quit? I am not sure if it's stuck at something or is actually updating something. The hard drive blinks slightly once about every 1 or 2 seconds (doesn't tell much).

What's the average installation time?

why did you do it? if you update your Windows regularly, RC1 will be around 120 MB download size through windows updater. For me it took only 15-20 mins to install RC1.

Definately seems to long, mine took about an hour. Without constant disk activity, sounds like something hung to me...
