SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC128N/AM 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) Notebook Upgrade Kit

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147137&Tpk=N82E16820147137

It's $179.00 minus coupon code SSDSAMPR to make it $139.00 w/free shipping!

The deal ends March 31st so get em while you can! Best deal since the Crucial M4 128GB.

(And even though it's a 'Notebook Upgrade Kit it obviously works fine in a desktop as well).

SO tempting! I've really been trying to hold out for the 256gb but didn't bite at the $300 deal so I'm kicking myself. I use a 64gb as a cache drive, and it's been solid for months and made the system incredibly responsive.

This deal expires tonight, only for 24 hours, so get em while they last guys. I would have bought one today too if i hadn't gotten the Crucial M4 recently. :)

I've been holding out ever since I missed that approximately $1/GB Crucial M4 deal a few weeks ago. Had to spring for this one.

Ahhhh! 150 after tax, so tempted!

Btw Amazon also has it for 140 for those who get taxed by Newegg(but that might only be with prime).

What's the difference between this model with the rebate MZ-7PC128B/WW

and the other two 128GB 830s

MZ-7PC128N/AM

and

MZ-7PC128D/AM?

I believe the MZ-7PC128B/WW is a bare drive, while the N and D designators are for the full upgrade installation kits for Notebook and Desktop respectively.

This will be my first SSD as well, and really I'm looking forward to it. I just did a new build over the holidays, and really don't don't have much on the drive at this point, so I figure I'll just do a clean install versus trying to clone the disk.

One thing is odd though, I have the order confirmation and invoice from NE on this, but no shipping info yet.

I think Newegg usually gives shipping info/tracker when they actually send the product. At the moment it's probably still in their warehouse being prepped for shipping.

I've ordered a boatload of stuff from them, and by this point I've always at least been provided the tracking info, even if it has only been entered into the system, and not actually been picked up by UPS yet.

Really? I don't get tracking data until a day after it has shipped, which means that sometimes, it arrives the same day that I get the tracking data. (From NJ to MA.)

My experience has been the same. I'm looking at my newegg email logs and they sent the tracking verification email a day after the charge was made.

Edit: Looking again, I noticed that I almost always received the Invoice as the same time/day as the tracking verification. Maybe you'll have to contact customer service to see if your item is backlogged or something.

Just received shipping confirmation tonight, and from the tracking number it appears that it will be by UPS through the USPS. I hope it isn't a case of the drive thrown into a padded envelope.

Why? SSDs survive shock pretty well. (They are nearly invulnerable to shock damage, unlike HDs.)

Heck, I ordered four WD Green 1TB drives from Frys.com some time back, and they sent all of the bare drives in ONE bubble-mailer, side-by-side and on top of each other.

I was amazed that three out of the four were not DOA.

In fact, they are still running today.

I attribute that to the fact that they are ramp-load drives, and the precious heads were locked on the ramp thing, and not slapping the platters.
