well, there would be categories, one could be post-processed images (more than touch up work)

im down for this, Ill even host all the pics in a gallery on my site

Wahsapa: photoshop shoudl be included to the point of cropping, levels adjustments, sharpening... but not going crazy and makeing things that arnt there

we could have people vote, coppermine allows people to rate photos
we could get the rest of us at shutterboard in on this as well as thoes on cannontalk

B&amp;W and Color would be the easiest 2 catagories you could do one for macro as well but it woudl be best to not have too many of them

there could be judges for each catagorie or just go by votes, then put the catagorie winners up against each other for best in show

i'm assuming each gallery would be its own category within coppermine, and we could tally the highest scores for each album right?

yes id make an album for each catagorie, but coppermine rateing is funny, its done on a 5 star system and just displays the # out of 5 and the number of votes

they all get dumped into a top rated section and you could just pull the top ones from each catagorie from there

if there was a tie there coudl be issues tho

Wahsapa we coudl have a catagorie for you PS wizards as well, but i dont beleive there are alot of them tho, woudl be nice to see what they do tho

Anubis, is there any way to make the ratings on a percentage scale (basically eliminating the possibility of a tie)?

not that i know of in coppermine anyway
gallery or 4Images Gallery might do that, thoes are the other 2 i can eaisily install on my site

Judges should be impartial and know their photography sh!t.

I still have my Canon A40 and S200 which I haven't figured out how to use, still ...

should we make a rule that the photos must have been shot for this contest specifically? (i.e. after the date the contest is officially announced)
quite a few of the contests i entered during high school were like that.

i just checked 4images does it the same way as coppermin in a scale of 5 or 10

i couldent find how gallery did it on their site, i know someone here runs gallery mabye the can answer the question
