i get tons of calls a day where people expect me to have their credit info from a previous order. "its the same one i used before, don't you have it on file?" i know i get pissed when a company keeps my credit card number as a matter of course.

I talked 30+ people I had never met into giving me their SSN's.

What can you actually do with someone's SSN anyway?

Can you say Identity Theft. You can get a copy of their birth certificate and go get drivers licenses, State ID's etc.

At school our student ID is our SSN, so if somebody wanted mine, they could get it damn easy seeing as though it's written on the top of most of my papers.

It's not like it's difficult to get someone's SSN. It's easier in state's that have SSNs the same as their driver's license number.

If someone wants to try and steal your identity, they don't have to dig through trash to do so...
