It's almost Thanksgiving, what are you thankful for?

Let's reflect upon this past year, what are some things you are thankful for?

Personally, I am thankful for the support I've gotten from close friends, family, and acquaintences(ATOT people) over the past year. I'm thankful that I'm relatively healthy, and that my family is as well. I'm thankful that I've gotten a chance to experience new things, specifically new emotions, that even though they are painful now, will make me a stronger person in the future. I'm thankful that I got a chance to meet some new people, go to new places, and challenged myself in school, life and the outdoors(rock climbing this year has been a complete trip!). I'm also thankful that I have a best friend, he doesn't read the forums but, without him, I don't think I'd be as nearly well off as I am now. He has motivated me to change so many aspects of my life, the debt and gratitude I feel to this person is immeasurable. Most of all I'm thankful to just be alive and well. I hope everyone has a wonderful thanksgiving holiday. Try to stop and think about some of the things that you are thankful for and let us hear about it.

Oh, one more thing, I'm thankful that I stopped at the liquor store yesterday, and picked up some nice 12 year old scotch, Cheers!

Mr Isla is in front of the fireplace right now, relaxing after a long day's work. The kids are playing nicely, and I am getting some work done inbetween peeking at the threads here.

I am thankful that, despite some of my bad choices and mistakes I have made, everything has turned out pretty darn well for me.

God's saving of me through faith in Christ despite my sin. Everything else fails in comparison.

Everything the Lord has done for me, and it has been A LOT! ...even though I have failed him so many times...

I'm thankful for him giving me the patients in dealing with the horrible situations I have been going through at work, which btw are panning out Very nicely... Finally! :)

I'm thankful for a warm house to live in with everything I "need" in it.

For finding this beautiful lot (5 acre heavily wooded with hardwood trees) to put my house on, which is exactally what I've wanted my whole life.

That my car hasn't needed any work done on it in 4 months (knocks on wood). hehe

OK, that last one was a little sarcastic ;)

For the 22 pound turkey I've got in the oven which 20+ people will be eatting tomorrow.

That Tennessee was a Hands down, no recount needed, clear winning state for George Bush! :D hehe

Hey whitedog. In what area is your 5 acre lot in? From the sig at the bottom I thought it could be close to me.

Sounds like a nice place.

I've been wondering if there are any other TNeans on here.

I am thankful for many things. The most significant right now being that a friend of mine and his wife who were in a very bad auto accident are eventually going to be ok. They are both hospitalized in pretty bad shape, but they are expected to fully recover in time. What really sucks is that his wife was pregnant. :(

Although this is the toughest time in my life, getting divorced after 18 years. I'm thankful for my best friend Jacque, and all the people at work that are helping me get through this. It's amazing how your real friends come to your aid in times of trouble.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I am thankful for that which I do not have.
I have attained no great wealth to lead me toward greed.
I have amassed no coveted possessions to lead me toward selfishness.
I have no great fame nor beauty to lead me toward vanity.
I have no great hatred to lead me toward bitterness.
I harbor no envy to lead me toward resentment,
But most of all I am thankful that I have no want nor need for that which I do not have, and that leads me toward home with a quickened step and a song in my heart.

I'm thankful to be alive, because by all rights I should either be dead or seriously incapacitated...

I'm thankful to be financially stable, even if I do have tons of student loans...

I'm thankful to have a great job with some great possibilities, even if I do get stressed from time to time...

I am thankful for medical technology, that saved my nephew who was born 9 weeks premature.

I am thankful for a good economy, with which I have been able to dig myself out of credit card debt and purchase my own home.

I am thankful for my lovely wife, whose patience seems neverending and whose love is warm and unconditional.

I am thankful for safety and health.
