If you stumble on to the green drunk and disturb the players they are going to sous vide your ass in the water hazard.

They have a huge sign at the entrance, on tournament days one cannot have a cell phone, camera or any type of gadget in your possession, if your caught you will be escorted off the course without refund and your "credentials" (they don't call them "tickets") will be revoked, permanently. The reason the prices are so high is once you have "credentials" you get them year after year, my brother got his after waiting in the "lottery" for 10 years, he sells them now every year at a handsome profit.

Two of my former bosses are going. We have a service contract there and it's a job perk for the higher-ups (they get to chose that "assignment" with additional personal days). I've only been to Augusta to buy a motorcycle and probably wouldn't enjoy myself no matter how how exclusive the tickets are (mostly because I am not a golf fan).

BOUGHT IT

oh wait, now i gotta make sure i have appropriate clothes to wear

Your just a spectator, wear a pair of shorts and comfortable sneakers and a light colored shirt, you will be doing a LOT of walking up and down steep hills, just don't show up in a wife-beater, I don't think they allow those. Per Bobby Jones instructions from 1930 something there are pimento cheese and chicken sandwiches available for $2-3 but they are very small, have a big breakfast before you go and hydrate plenty, you'll be sweating a lot doing all the walking. You will be amazed at the condition of the course, it's so perfect it's almost like a Disney creation LOL..

the tv ratings will definitely not be as high, wonder if that turns into lost $$$.
Bet those spots are paid for in advance too. I have no idea why people watch golf in the 1st place. Kind of like baseball. Different being there or playing but I'll pass on watching unless it's the highlights or the last couple of rounds.

It's a big deal for the local stores/shops/restaurants. Hope they make a mint.

Not for the Masters, they're paid a rights fee based on what CBS guesses the ratings are going to be. And the commercials are booked in advance too based on past average ratings. It's *possible* that CBS will have some deals with advertisers that guarantee a certain rating, but those are usually based on make-goods, that is, if the telecast does not meet the ratings plateau CBS would owe the advertisers another series of free or cheaper commercials to compensate. They don't return the money.

As the Masters is telecast with limited commercials and a small, carefully selected group of advertisers, even that is a long shot. Despite the fact that fewer people are going to see some commercials for Cadillac, the net economic impact of Tiger not being there is going to be zero. Other tournaments a big player dropping out can move the needle a little, The Masters is too big to be affected the same way.

weird... i was sitting in my car at a local store not far from the course waiting to pick up tickets at 6 AM, when this girl who had been sitting in her car applying makeup for 10 minutes came over and asked to borrow my phone.

im like... why? she said she needed to get ahold of her boss and forgot her phone. i thought this seemed very fishy, so i said i am waiting for a text (which i was). so she said she'd go borrow a phone from someone else.

COULD THIS HAVE BEEN PART OF A STING OPERATION?

whew

Not as bad as the triple he made on #7 yesterday without being in any trap or water hazard or trees.
