If you think that's odd, watch some of the Disney shows from the 50s and 60s promising videophones, etc by 1980.

Most people are still apes who haven't yet figured out what more they can do with leftovers.

They give Evolution a bad name. :p

<< Where is the Space ships, Flying cars, and Talking Robot >>

There are two people permanently living in a space station right now and we have the option to shuttle back and forth from it at our will.

A thread was posted here the other day, a flying car has been created and it can go 300 mph.

Ever heard of a furby? ;)

The big space ship is in my pants.

and cars can fly... you just have to go fast enough to break through that metal barrier next to the cliff.

talking robots. my nieces have meowchi's that annoy the hell out of me.

We already have space ships. Humans have been to the moon and back. Unmanned vehicles have passed the solar system.

Flying cars hve been around since the late 1950s. Government regulations and red tape have prevented further research and/or mass production and acceptance.

There are also robots with voice recognition built in.

So whaddya want?

I still think it's kinda cool that I can play 3D games on my laptop while lying in bed, against people all over the world, networked at 1 Mbit speeds through my phone lines without a DSL modem in this room, all with less 0.1 seconds of lag time between me and my competitors. Very cool. In fact, this message is coming to you from that very same bed.

I'll get a flying car next year. :)

Actually, I'm getting a partially electrical car with computer read out and touch screen in 2001. Maybe it'll even come with GPS if I'm lucky. Good enough for you?

All I want to see before I die are hot dogs that apply mustard to themselves. Anyone who's ever tried to apply condiments to a fine fine footlong dog at a sporting event knows my pain.

Space and cars are advanceing very slowly but Computers are Advanceing very fast. In just 13 months, the MHZ speeds in CPUs have Doubled! Amazing huh? In the Past 10 years cpus have become over 100 times more powerfull then the old 386 25mhz. Wow i sure remember that old mechine of mine, dunno where it ended up. My Duron 800 F@cking Murders my old k6-2 500! That k6-2 500 did pretty good in CS with the gf2 but had mobo and vid card problems so i just went duron and sy-k7vta. Computers have Advanced far more then expected but flying cars and space advertures are still far off.

Speaking of 2001: A Space Odyssey, WTF were they smoking back then? I finally decided to watch the whole thing after reading the Sunday Foxtrot comic strip and rented it on DVD at Blockbusters. Damn, that sh*t was weird at the end.
