Okay.. here I am thinking the Gainward GF3 Ti200 I bought about 2 weeks ago died on me somehow after trying to start a game of Half Life. I don't know what exactly caused it.. but you know when you're loading up Half Life and the screen flashes for a second and the loading screen comes up where it says "Initializing Game" etc..
That flash caused my card to look like it died on me..

A few minutes ago, I was playing around in my BIOS after my Voodoo3 PCI's refresh rates screwed up and my monitor would shut down before reaching the Win98se desktop..

Anyway, I went into the setting "Init Display First" and changed it from PCI to AGP... I popped in my GF3 Ti200 to try once again.. alas.. it didn't work at first.. but then the screen started to flash several times.. I would see the desktop for about 1 second.. then it flashes off.. then it flashed on again.. this happened about 10 times. Could it have had something to do with the refresh rates? If so, why didn't I get anything on the screen upon bootup? I thought refresh rate problems only happened upon reaching the desktop?

Now here I am.. typing this with the GF3 Ti200 running.. and I'm still very cautious about it.. I'm afraid it'll shut down on me again.. I thought I had fried it while having the card on 220/500.

Could it the VIA 4.35 and 4.36 drivers?? The card seemed to die on me a day after I installed the 4.35's.. I have since installed the 4.36's.. I'm running Win98se...

Here are my systec specs if needed:
Epox 8KHA+ KT266a
AMD Athlon XP 1700+
Crucial 512mb PC2100 DDR
Gainward GF3 Ti200 currently @ 175/400
Quantum Fireball LP 20GB
Old Techmedia Monitor

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the old monitor.. I also tried the video card in my other computer with a 440BX-2 mobo and a KDS monitor.. the Ti200 didn't work in that system either.. so I was certain I had fried the card..

Hi!

It can be very frustrating when nobody reacts at your thread. I would help but I do not have a GF3...

Here's a bump for ya!

Cheers,
