It's absolutely MIND BOGGLING how horrible Dell phone support is.

I call Dell customer service.

Menu systems have NO options for monitor support.

"Please say the product type or model number you are calling about."

"Monitor"

"Is this product attached to a desktop or a laptop?"

"Desktop"

"Is this desktop a Dimension, Optiplex, or Dell Server?"

WHAT?!

When I got to customer service, they had to transfer me to tech support to process the warranty. When I got to "tech support" they had to transfer me to customer service. I said they were the ones who transfered me to tech support in the first place. They transfer me, and it turns out they transferred me back to themselves. Then they transferred me to Dell on Call, and DoC tells me they don't do this stuff so they want to transfer me to Tech Support? I WAS ALREADY THERE!!! Then they say "ok, sorry" and then they want to transfer me to Customer Service. I WAS ALREADY THERE!!! "Sorry, I'll stay on the line with you and talk to the customer service guy and explain your situation." I get transferred, hold for 5 minutes, someone picks up and the guy from DoC is no longer there. As the customer service guy is checking my case number, he disconnects me.

Why don't you give Dell's chat-based support a try? I've probably saved about twelve phones from being shattered against the wall by using it. ;)

Same, I would rather do that than talk to a guy who calls himself "Hank" but can barely speak English.

I can't. The monitor doesn't have an Express Service Tag. Without it, I can't enter chat.

on another note, I had to have an ACER lcd repplaced, called Acer, got through quickly, got RMA instructions, and received a replacement 2 days later. Suffice it to say I am not an Acer fan!

I entered in a fake Service Code by randomly entering numbers. Let's see how this goes.
